Bernier (lower body) indicated Monday that he's doing better, but remains day-to-day, David Alter of the National Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier has sat out each of the last four contests because of the issue, resulting in his placement on injured reserve and the recall of Antoine Bibeau. While he appears to be closing in on a return to the team, it's unclear exactly when that will occur. His next chance will come Tuesday against the Stars, but it seems more likely that he will sit that out, as he only got in a shortened practice Monday.

Bernier (lower body) was not on the ice Friday morning, Jonas Siegel of TSN 1050 reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to Siegel, Leafs bench boss Mike Babcock said Thursday that Bernier was expected to skate Friday and while it's unclear if he experienced a setback, this is a discouraging development nonetheless. James Reimer figures to assume most - if not all - of the starts in the crease with Bernier on injured reserve and ineligible to return until Nov. 10.

Bernier (lower body) has been placed on injured reserve, retroactive to Oct. 31.
EDGE Analysis
Given that retroactive timetable, he would be eligible to return Nov. 10 on the road against the Stars, though he would obviously have to prove that he's over the ailment before getting sent between the pipes. James Remier has been getting the starts in his absence, but the Leafs are dropping rapidly this fall based on a 2-8-2 record.

Bernier (undisclosed) is day-to-day.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier was initially expected to start Monday against Dallas, but ultimately served as James Reimer's backup in the contest due to the bumps and bruises he collected in Saturday's tilt against the Penguins. He's apparently still feeling the effects of those dings, as the Leafs recalled goaltender Antoine Bibeau from AHL Toronto on an emergency basis Tuesday in case Bernier is unable to backup Reimer on Wednesday against Winnipeg. If the 27-year-old netminder truly is only dealing with bumps and bruises, he should be ready to return to action Friday against the Red Wings.

After an initial indication pointed to Bernier starting Monday, he will actually serve as the backup to James Reimer on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier is reportedly not feeling great due to some bumps and bruises during Saturday's game, and it likely played into the decision to go with James Reimer on Monday. However, he's feeling well enough to serve as the backup and should be good to start moving forward should he be called upon.

Bernier will receive the start in net Monday against the Stars, Jonas Siegel of TSN 1050 reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier's start marks his third straight and fourth in the past five contests. However, his 0-6-1 record with a 3.02 GAA and .899 save percentage over that frame doesn't offer many fantasy benefits. He'll look to get in the win column for the first time Monday, but will face another tough opponent in the Stars, who rank third in the league with 3.64 goals per game.

Bernier made 28 saves in a 4-0 loss to the Penguins on Saturday night.
EDGE Analysis
It was just another night in paradise for the embattled 'tender who just cannot catch a break. Bernier is yet to get a win this season and his teammates have scored a grand total of seven goals -- yes, seven -- in his seven starts. We'd say avoid him like the plague, but you already know that.

Bernier will get the start Saturday against the Penguins, Jonas Siegel of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier will be making his second consecutive start Saturday after saving 23 during a 3-1 loss to the Rangers on Friday. Despite giving up two goals, coach Mike Babcock was apparently impressed with the goalie's .920 save percentage which keeps fellow netminder James Reimer on the bench.

Bernier will receive the starting nod in net for Friday's game against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier continues to split time with James Reimer between the pipes, but neither of the two can seem to get things going. Bernier will start in net Friday after yielding Monday's start to Reimer, and will look to improve on his 3.02 GAA, .902 save percentage and 0-4-1 record through five games this season. However, he'll face another tough task in the high-powered Rangers on Friday, and could be in for another long night.

Bernier made 22 saves in a 5-3 loss to Montreal on Saturday night.
EDGE Analysis
There were a couple of softies in there, but at least he didn't allow the first shot to go in this time. The Leafs sorely outworked the Habs on Saturday, but les bleu, blanc et rouge made every opportunity count. Bernier is now 1-7-3 against Montreal in his career and remains winless this season (0-4-1). He's a challenging fantasy roll ... and that's an understatement.
