Bernier will be between the pipes in Saturday's game against the Canadiens, Jonas Siegel of TSN 1050 reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier has been solid thus far for Toronto, posting an 0-3-1 record with a 2.39 GAA and .924 save percentage. He draws into a highly unfavorable matchup Saturday against Montreal, who have averaged 3.75 goals scored per game through their first eight tilts of the season, good for third best in the NHL.

Bernier made 34 saves through regulation, but ended up losing 2-1 in Buffalo after five rounds of the shootout on Wednesday night.
EDGE Analysis
It was a great performance for a guy who's been shaky, at best, to start games. Bernier stood tall until the 15:31 mark of the third when Evander Kane beat him and then allowed just two goals in the shootout. This is a solid step for Bernier to secure the top spot. But he still needs to show his coaches and us a bit more before we anoint him top dog.

Bernier will be in the crease in Wednesday's game against the Sabres, Jonas Siegel of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier was solid in his last outing, turning away 31 of the 33 shots he faced en route to a 2-1 loss to the Penguins on Saturday. He draws a favorable matchup against the Sabres on Wednesday, as Buffalo has only averaged 1.80 goals scored per game thus far this season.

Bernier made 31 saves in a 2-1 loss to the Penguins on Saturday night.
EDGE Analysis
It feels a bit like Groundhog Day when Bernier stands in the blue paint for Toronto. He had yet another weak start -- the third and fourth shots of the game got past him -- just like every game he's played. But he was spectacular in the second when his mates fell asleep in front of him. Bernier remains a sketchy play for fantasy owners. The Leafs still haven't settled on a bonafide number one guy, in large part because neither Bernier or James Reimer have stepped up to seize the top job.

Bernier will receive the start in net Saturday against the Penguins, James Mirtle of The Globe and Mail reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier struggled in his previous start last Friday against the Red Wings (three goals allowed on nine shots), and he continues in search for his first win of the season. He'll receive the second start of a back-to-back set Friday and Saturday, with James Reimer starting Friday's contest.

Bernier is expected to start Friday's game in Columbus, the Toronto Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier is off to a slow start through two games, following a lousy showing in the preseason. He could eventually face pressure if the struggles continue, but he probably isn't in immediate danger of falling behind James Reimer, who will likely start Saturday's game in Pittsburgh.

Bernier only made six saves on nine shots in a loss to the Wings on Friday. He was pulled after 20:20 for James Reimer.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier let in a goal early for the second game in a row, and while he bounced back in Toronto's opener, he did not here. It's too early to panic, but Bernier has not exactly excited fantasy owners so far.

Bernier stopped 27 of 29 shots in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the visiting Canadiens on Opening Night. The third goal was an empty-netter.
EDGE Analysis
What the boxscore doesn't reveal is that the very first shot of the season that he and the Leafs faced trickled over the goal line. Bernier did settle in the rest of the way though, before being beaten by Alex Galchenyuk at 12:02 of the third period. Per new head coach Mike Babcock, he'll be between the pipes again Friday against Babcock's former team (Detroit) so look for Bernier to be motivated to get the W for the Leafs' new bench boss. James Reimer will get the nod Saturday against Ottawa.

Bernier will start the Maple Leafs' first two games, Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier had a relatively disappointing preseason for the Maple Leafs, posting just a 3.17 GAA and 88.2 percent save percentage in four games, but it wasn't enough for him to lose out to James Reimer for the starting goaltending job. If the preseason is any indication, Bernier's 213 shots against over four games could mean he's in for a peppering of shots on a nightly basis. However, he'll at least have the benefit of a consistent group of defensive pairings ahead of him that should stabilize the situation a bit more.

Bernier has been outperformed by James Reimer this preseason. Bernier has delivered a 3.62 GAA and .885 save percentage in 149 minutes, while Reimer has a 2.36 GAA and .917 save percentage in 127 minutes.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Mike Babcock has been very clear -- both men have a shot at the job and he has no intention of rolling into the season in a 1A/1B situation. He wants a clear-cut starter. Training camp is often meaningless -- Bernier has been the starter for the last two years and camp is usually a place to just get back into game shape. And despite the obvious differences in numbers, only one performance -- Reimer in a loss in Montreal -- really stood out as great. The Leafs will struggle this year and while Babcock's systems will help the team, the goalie -- whichever one prevails -- will be hard pressed to deliver even mid-range numbers.
