Bernier (upper body) will not be available Tuesday to back up John Gibson against Los Angeles, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
In light of Bernier's injury, the Ducks have called up Dustin Tokarski from the AHL. Even if Bernier is out long term, he should be able to retake the backup role in Anaheim, barring elite level play from Tokarski. Regardless of who the No. 2 is, fantasy owners should expect John Gibson to see the bulk of the minutes throughout the season, which leaves Bernier with minimal fantasy value.

Bernier (upper body) remains off the ice and missing practice, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Curiously, the Ducks sent interim backup Dustin Tokarski to AHL San Diego on Saturday, despite Bernier not being ready for practice. One would think that Bernier would need to skate in a practice or two before he'd get the green light for the next contest, but then again, the Ducks don't play again until Tuesday.

Bernier (upper body) is considered day-to-day and will not be in the lineup against Nashville on Wednesday, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier, who left Tuesday's matchup in the second period, is not off to the best of starts, as he's winless through two outings with a 3.04 GAA. While sidelined, the 28-year-old will be replaced on the bench by AHL call-up Dustin Tokarski. Even when he returns to action, Bernier's fantasy value will remain limited as he is unlikely to challenge starter John Gibson for ice time.

Bernier left Tuesday's game against the Sharks with an upper-body injury, Helene Elliot of the LA Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier was replaced in the second period by John Gibson, who, presumably, will finish the contest. Prior to his exit, Bernier put away 10 of 11 shots. At this point, Bernier figures to be day-to-day but that could change once there is more information available concerning the severity of the injury.

Bernier will guard the posts Tuesday against the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier is set to make his second appearance of the season as John Gibson gets a day of rest following four consecutive starts. In Bernier's last time out, the 28-year-old put away a tremendous 42 of 45 shots (.933 save percentage) en route to a loss to the Penguins.

Bernier put up a massive effort with 42 saves in a 3-2 loss to the Penguins on Saturday night.
EDGE Analysis
The pressure is off and he's back on the left coast where his career started. Bernier is poised for a big rebound and while he'll never be a true starter, he could be one of the league's top backups.

Bernier will shield the net Saturday in a road game against the Penguins, Josh Getzoff of PensTV reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier must be excited for a fresh start with a new club after laboring through a nightmare 2015-16 campaign with the Maple Leafs, which resulted in him going 12-21-3 with a 2.88 GAA and .908 save percentage. He's a prime candidate for a bounce-back year given that Anaheim fashioned the league's best defense last season and didn't need to make any significant changes to that group ahead of 2016-17.

Bernier allowed just two goals Sunday in a 3-2 overtime win over Anaheim.
EDGE Analysis
John Gibson is still slated to be the Ducks' No. 1 starter, but with the way Bernier played, he's an excellent insurance policy and head coach Randy Carlyle should have no problem giving Bernier the nod if Gibson goes on a cold streak. Bernier got worse and worse with each passing year in Toronto, and perhaps moving to Anaheim where he's not expected to carry the franchise will do him some good. He was one of the league's better backups during his days with the Kings. Fantasy owners who aren't confident that Gibson can keep the No. 1 job for the entire season should take a look at Bernier as a potential handcuff. Otherwise, Bernier should be left alone at the draft table and picked off the waiver wire instead when the time comes.

Bernier notched a shutout on 22 shots during Wednesday's 2-0 preseason win against the Sharks.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier has quietly been solid in the preseason for Anaheim, posting a .936 save percentage and now his first win. John Gibson is still the man for the Ducks, but it's an encouraging sign that the 28-year-old can step in and protect the crease when called upon.

Bernier is starting in the crease Wednesday against the Sharks, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier figures to play second fiddle to John Gibson this season but has posted respectable numbers in his two appearances this presason, owning a 1.96 GAA and .923 save percentage. He'll get a look Wednesday but his use will likely be more sparse when the action turns more meaningful.
