Bernier will patrol the crease versus the Ducks on Friday, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
In his only appearance this season, Bernier allow four pucks to find the back of the net while facing 39 shots from New Jersey. The netminder will get the opportunity to matchup against his former club, having logged 39 outings for Anaheim during the 2016-17 campaign.

Bernier made 35 saves in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Devils.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier no longer has illusions of being a starter and in Colorado, it'll be a long, long season behind that queasy squad, especially as a back-up. He's avoidable, even as a spot starter.

Bernier will start between the pipes in Saturday's road game against the Devils, Mike Chambers of The Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier will be looking to build on a promising preseason performance during which he maintained a 1.84 GAA over two appearances. The 29-year-old netminder will likely split duties with Semyon Varlamov this campaign, which means he could be in line for 40-plus starts in 2017-18.

Bernier will serve as Semyon Varlamov's backup Thursday against the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier was dealing with a minor groin injury last week, but he's evidently left that ailment in the rear-view mirror. The 29-year-old netminder could get his first start of the season as soon as Saturday against New Jersey.

Bernier (groin) wasn't able to participate in Thursday's practice.
EDGE Analysis
The severity of Bernier's ailment is unknown, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the Avalanche shut him down for the rest of the preseason in order to ensure he'll be healthy for their regular-season opener Oct. 5 against the Rangers. The 29-year-old netminder may split duties with Semyon Varlamov this season, but he'll be playing behind one of the worst rosters in the NHL, making the Colorado goaltending situation one to avoid if possible.

Bernier will start the team's preseason tilt Saturday against Minnesota, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Bernier joined the Avalanche this offseason on a one-year contract and will get some looks during the preseason alongside Semyon Varlamov, the incumbent starter for the club. Although Varlamov is likely the favorite to lead the team's puck-stoppers, Bernier could inch his way into a more sizable role with a strong showing during the preseason.

Bernier signed a one-year $2.75 million contract with the Avalanche on Saturday, TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Based on 2016-17 regular-season standings, Bernier moves from the top team in the Western Conference in the Ducks to the worst in Colorado. This is certainly a precarious position for Bernier to be in, and keeper-league owners of Bernier won't soon forget how the goalie was relegated to the minors based on poor play with the Maple Leafs -- before they bought him out of his contract last summer. Still, the silver lining for Bernier is that he could be in line for substantial playing time if Semyon Varlamov shows complications with his hip following surgery or the Avs prove hesitant to rip the training wheels off Jeremy Smith in his second year.

Bernier is an option for the Golden Knights in the expansion draft since he was left unprotected, theScore reports.
EDGE Analysis
It seems like so long ago that Bernier was struggling to keep an NHL job with the Maple Leafs, but he embraced the role as a backup for the Ducks this year and posted a spectacular 21-7-4 record in spite of average peripherals (2.51 GAA, .915 save percentage) during the regular season. His four-game playoff output wasn't nearly as strong (3.29 GAA, .873 save mark), but at least fantasy owners could depend on him at various intervals of the campaign. Still, exposing Bernier was an absolute no-brainer for the Ducks, as he'll become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Bernier saved just 12 of 16 shots during Monday's Game 6 loss to Nashville.
EDGE Analysis
Nashville's first goal was deflected in off Brandon Montour's skate, and then Colton Sissons made no mistake from the slot to make it 2-0 for the Preds after just three shots on net. Bernier only faced 13 more shots through the rest of the game, as Anaheim dominated the possession with 72 shot attempts compared to Nashville's 35. This just wasn't Anaheim's night, and while Bernier wasn't overly sharp, Game 6 should probably be viewed as a tough-luck loss. Unless he re-signs with Anaheim, the 28-year-old netminder is set to become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

Bernier will be between the pipes for Monday's Game 6 against the Predators, Adam Vingan of The Tennesseean reports.
EDGE Analysis
With John Gibson (lower body) unable to even dress for the contest, Bernier will make his first career playoff start. It's hard to fathom a more stressful scenario to do so, as the Ducks are down 3-2 facing elimination in the series on enemy ice where the home team has been dynamite in the postseason. Jhonas Enroth will dress as the backup.
