Thornton (shoulder) skated Tuesday morning, David Pollak of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Thornton had been off the ice since last Friday while tending to the shoulder injury, but because Tuesday's session wasn't a full practice, it's difficult to discern whether or not he'll be ready to go for Thursday's game against the Flyers. The Sharks should have a better idea of his condition by Wednesday or Thursday morning.

Thornton (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.
Thornton was already listed as doubtful for Monday's game, but he will need to miss both Monday and Tuesday as a result of the move. The team will likely add someone from the AHL to fill his roster spot while he sits. He will next be eligible to return Thursday against the Flyers.

Thornton (shoulder) is doubtful for Monday's game against the Jets, but is expected to play at some point during the Sharks' road trip, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.
Thornton left Wednesday's game against the Ducks midway through the first period and didn't return. He was expected to return Saturday, but it looks as though the injury will cost him a minimum of two games. His next chance to return to the lineup will come Tuesday against the Wild.

Thornton (shoulder) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Blues, David Pollak of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
Considered probable to play heading into the day, Thornton was unable to skate Saturday morning and quickly ruled out by coach Todd McLellan. It will spell an end to the iron man's streak of 319 consecutive games played, an attribute that made him one of the more trusty fantasy forwards despite a dive in his goal totals in recent seasons. It seems the Sharks are viewing Thornton day-to-day at this time, so there's hope that his absence will only span one game. Joe Pavelski is slated to center the top line in Thornton's absence, while Matt Nieto slides up to fill Pavelski's usual spot on the wing.

Thornton (shoulder) was absent from the Sharks' gameday skate, putting his status in question for Saturday's game against the Blues, David Pollak of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
After he was able to get in a full practice Friday, Thornton was considered probable to play Saturday, but the Sharks may be rethinking that after keeping him off the ice during the morning session. It's possible that Thornton just took his option to rest until the evening, but it certainly doesn't erase concerns fantasy owners might have had about his availability. Expect an official verdict on his status during pregame warmups, but because the Sharks are the last game on the schedule Saturday, it may be tough to count on him in daily formats. If Thornton ends up sitting Saturday, his streak of 319 consecutive games played will come to an end.

Coach Todd McLellan said Friday that Thornton (shoulder) is probable to play in Saturday's game against the Blues, David Pollak of the San Jose Mercury News reports.
A collision with the Ducks' Clayton Stoner forced Thornton out of Wednesday's game with an apparent shoulder injury, but the veteran center was back at practice two days later to alleviate any concerns. McLellan said that Thornton felt even better than the Sharks had anticipated Friday, allowing him to be bullish about his availability for Saturday's game. Thornton has not missed a game due to injury since the 2009-10 season.

Thornton left Wednesday's game midway through the first period after suffering an undisclosed injury, reports the Associated Press.
He collided with Ducks' defender Clayton Stoner on what seemed like an innocent, shoulder-to-shoulder contact; he left holding his left shoulder. He has played every game for the Sharks this season and the previous three seasons, too. Any absence would be uncharacteristic for the ironman.

Thornton was the only Shark to beat the Canucks' Ryan Miller on Tuesday, scoring his ninth goal of the year on a penalty shot in a 3-1 loss.
Thorny was taken down on a breakaway, and he moved to 2-for-2 on penalty shots for his career by surprising Miller with a quick wrist release. His surprising scoring touch continues, as the veteran dishmaster remains on track to clear 20 goals for the first time since 2010-11.

Thornton picked up an assist in his third straight game Saturday against the Kings.
Thornton now has 23 helpers on the season, placing him just outside the league's top 10 in that category. With the 35-year-old noticing a bounce back in his goal scoring this season as well, look for him to take aim at the 70-point mark yet again.

Thornton registered his third straight multi-point game Saturday, scoring an empty-net goal and picking up an assist in a win over Nashville.
Thornton has been red-hot lately, helping the Sharks to four straight wins. With eight goals and 20 assists in 32 games, Thornton is once again proving to be one of the most consistent fantasy options in the game. He's an automatic roll every night he's in action.
