Thornton (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports. Thornton was already listed as doubtful for Monday's game, but he will need to miss both Monday and Tuesday as a result of the move. The team will likely add someone from the AHL to fill his roster spot while he sits. He will next be eligible to return Thursday against the Flyers.
