Spezza will serve as a healthy scratch against the Bruins on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Spezza is currently bogged down in a 14-game goal drought as well as a five-game pointless streak, which likely factored into coach Ken Hitchcock's decision to bench him. Given the center's proven scoring ability, its hard to imagine he will spend a significant amount of time in the press box, but fantasy owners will certainly want to check back ahead of Tuesday's tilt with Detroit.

Spezza didn't register a shot in regulation or overtime, but he did score the shootout-winning goal during Monday's 2-1 win over the Rangers.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran has just five goals and six points through 19 games dating back to the beginning of November, which is obviously a discouraging stretch. Spezza is still receiving top-six minutes and power-play looks, so he's in position to succeed, but fantasy owners should probably temper expectations moving forward. The offensive upside is still there, though, so don't write off Spezza just yet.

Spezza led the team with four shots in Tuesday's win over Vegas.
EDGE Analysis
Unfortunately, that was all Spezza did. He once again saw limited opportunity with just 12:46 of ice time. After snapping out a long funk to start the season, Spezza has gone three games without a point and continues to look like a shade of his former self.

It took Spezza 16 games to grab his first goal, and he posted his second of the season in Saturday's win over Edmonton.
EDGE Analysis
The 34-year-old has slowed a step and isn't getting the kind of high-end deployment he used to get. He's averaging 13:13 of ice time per game, the lowest since his rookie year. He's a depth player at best.

Spezza has five assists through 15 games this season, but he's still searching for that first goal.
EDGE Analysis
The 34-year-old has looked sluggish on the ice, disappointing fantasy owners that felt he may be able to replicate his 50-points campaign from last year. Spezza has only set 32 shots on goal after hoisting 149 in 68 games in 2016-17. His slide primarily can be attributed to the fact that he's averaging only 13:07 of ice time, which is more than three minutes less than he garnered the prior year. It's safe to leave Spezza on fantasy benches while he's caught in this offensive rut.

Spezza had an assist and a pair of shots in a losing effort against St. Louis on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Spezza grabbed his first point of the season, but he only saw 15:31 of ice time. More troubling for his prospects is that he played 2:38 of power play time. He's getting time, but he's not seeing much time with the top unit. Dallas will lean heavily on the top unit, and it's going to produce.

Spezza grabbed an assist on the Stars' lone goal in Saturday's preseason finale against Minnesota.
EDGE Analysis
Last year was a down year for the 34-year-old center, who tallied just 50 points at 0.73 points per game. That's the lowest point rate he's had since the 2003-04 season. He could bounce back, but he may have reduced opportunities to skate with superstars Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin after the signing of Alexander Radulov.

Spezza found twine in Thursday's 7-3 home loss to the Predators.
EDGE Analysis
The respected veteran helped spark a run of three unanswered goals in the second period, but that was it for the Stars, who will wrap up their season against the Avalanche at home Saturday. The alternate captain has two more years left on his contract valued at $7.5 million annually before he'll become an unrestricted free agent -- the deal also includes a modified no-trade clause.

Spezza picked up a goal and assist in Sunday's 6-3 loss against the Lightning.
EDGE Analysis
Spezza has goals in back-to-back games, and a total of six markers and 14 points over his past 15 outings. While his most productive offensive days are in the rear-view mirror the 33-year-old is still a solid point producer in most fantasy pools.

Spezza scored the game-winning goal in Saturday's 3-0 win over the Hurricanes.
EDGE Analysis
Spezza's goal scoring has fallen off a cliff this season -- this was just his 14th of the season after tallying 33 last year. He will fall shy of recording his fourth-straight 60-point season and at 33, his best is well behind him. But Spezza has put up eight points (two goals, six assists) in his last 10 games and may be a decent point producer until season's end.
