Garrison has been ruled out from playing in Tuesday's Game 3 against the Red Wings.
As expected, Garrison will sit out a ninth consecutive contest. On a positive note, coach Jon Cooper indicated that he's still hopeful that Garrison will be available at some point in the series, as the blueliner has been able to increase his contact during practices of late.

Garrison (upper body) has been ruled out for Game 1 of the Lightning's first-round playoff series against the Red Wings, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Garrison was cleared for contact ahead of Wednesday's practice, but it doesn't sound like he'll have enough time before Thursday's opener to get the necessary amount of reps in. The blueliner should continue to skate with the team Thursday morning and practice again Friday, which could put him on track to be ready by the time Game 2 rolls around.

Garrison (upper body) shed his no-contact jersey for Wednesday's practice, NHL.com's Bryan Burns reports.
It's the first time Garrison has been able to fully practice with teammates since suffering his injury March 28. Garrison slotted in on the Bolts' fourth pairing during the session, which suggests he'll still unlikely to play in Game 1 of the team's first-round playoff series with the Red Wings on Thursday. However, it's clear he's progressing from the injury, so expect to see him enter the lineup at some point during the first round.

Garrison (upper body) practiced Monday in a no-contact capacity, Matt Baker of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Garrison stepped up his workload during Monday's session, but the blueliner isn't optimistic of his prospects for the early part of the Lightning's first-round series against the Red Wings. "I don't know what's going to happen this week," Garrison said, regarding a potential return date. "I'm making progress every day. Still lots to gain, but I think if my body responds well, hopefully (I'll return) sooner than later." Garrison is one of three injured Lightning defensemen narrowing in on a return to action at some point in the series.

Garrison (upper body) is doubtful to be available for the start of the postseason, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Garrison was one of a smattering of banged-up Lightning players who took the ice Thursday morning, but he appears to be further behind in his recovery than Andrej Sustr (upper body) and Alex Killorn (undisclosed), both of whom are expected to suit up for Game 1 of the first round. The 30-year-old remains limited to skating on his own at this time, so until he resumes taking full-contact practice with the rest of the team, his return date will be up in the air.

Garrison (upper body) resumed skating on his own after Thursday's practice, Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune reports.
Garrison took part in light stick-handling drills and seemed to be encouraged by the session. However, the blueliner reiterated afterwards that his 3-to-4 week recovery timetable still holds, making it rather dicey that he'll be back before the second round of the playoffs.

Garrison will miss 3-4 weeks due to an upper-body injury, NHL.com reports.
Such a timetable effectively rules Garrison (who has 30 points in 70 games to date) out for the remainder of the regular season, further taxing a Tampa Bay blue line that will also be without Andrej Sustr for 1-2 weeks.
