Garrison (upper body) has been ruled out for Game 1 of the Lightning's first-round playoff series against the Red Wings, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports. Garrison was cleared for contact ahead of Wednesday's practice, but it doesn't sound like he'll have enough time before Thursday's opener to get the necessary amount of reps in. The blueliner should continue to skate with the team Thursday morning and practice again Friday, which could put him on track to be ready by the time Game 2 rolls around.
