According to a Czech Republic newspaper, Jaromir Jagr is "on track to reach agreement" to remain with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Jagr's comments after the Flyers were eliminated from the postseason seemed to indicate that he would not be back, but Philadelphia GM Paul Holmgren said the two sides had positive talks shortly afterward. "I think it is fair to say that I have expressed interest in Jaromir returning to the Flyers," Holmgren said on Wednesday. "I think Jaromir has expressed his interest in the Flyers. He had a good year and I think he liked it here." The Czech report said his chances of suiting up for the Flyers is probably at 65 percent and it's 30 percent possible that he signs with a different NHL team. The remaining 5 percent speculated Jagr would head back to his home country to play for HC Kladno, which is the team he owns and his father operates.

It is being speculated that Jaromir Jagr will test the waters as an unrestricted free agent.
The veteran winger didn't outright say that he wanted to be back in a Philadelphia uniform after the team was eliminated from Stanley Cup contention, by New Jersey, in the second round. Jagr proved that he has still has something left to give by recording 19 goals and 54 points in 73 games, during his return to the NHL, and he can add plenty of leadership qualities as well.

Jaromir Jagr had a very quiet and disappointing end to the postseason.
He generated only one assist in his last six games and wasn't noticeable at all versus the New Jersey Devils in Philadelphia's second-round exit after he notched one goal and six assists in Round 1 versus Pittsburgh. The Flyers were eliminated from playoff play in just five games by the Devils. The 40-year-old veteran plans to return for another season in the NHL next year, but it is unknown if he'll be back in Philadelphia.

Jaromir Jagr, who has showed off his playmaking ability this post-season with six assists, needs to shoot more successfully if the Flyers are going to have a deep playoff run.
Jagr has scored only one goal in five games against the Penguins on 15 shots. That's not a very good success rate. The Flyers should be closing in on the kill Sunday as they try to close out the Penguins at home.

Jaromir Jagr has expressed his intentions to return to the NHL next season.
"I know I'm going to play. I don't know where I'm going to play, but it doesn't matter because I love the game," he said on Wednesday. "I'm here right now and I just want to get ready for the playoffs. Whatever happens after happens." The veteran winger produced 54 points in 73 games with the Flyers during the regular season after returning from three years of hockey in the KHL and he picked up an assist in Game 1's win over Pittsburgh in the playoffs.

Jaromir Jagr still has no regrets about choosing to play in Philadelphia this season and not returning to his roots in Pittsburgh.
"When I decided to come back, I wanted to have some sort of responsibility with the team and be able to play a lot," he said. "I felt this is going to be my best choice. A brand-new team with a lot of new pieces and I'm gonna have a chance like everybody else. If I come to a team that just won the Stanley Cup or all the lines have been set for last 5 years, I might be playing third or fourth line. But I didn't come back to play third or fourth line. I'm not good there." Jagr saw time on the top unit with Claude Giroux in 2011-12, while generating 19 goals and 35 assists in 73 games. Now, he'll be looking to make a difference in the Flyers' first-round series against the Penguins.

Jaromir Jagr reached and surpassed the 50-point mark with three assists on Thursday.
Jagr now has 18 goals and 52 points in 68 games this season. As expected, he's not quite the superstar he was when he originally left the NHL, but he's still a great player. A 50-point campaign at his age is nothing to sneeze at, especially considering that he's spent the previous three seasons in the KHL. He turned 40 in February, but he has something left to give if he decides to play in 2012-13.

Despite nagging groin injuries earlier this season and, more recently, a troublesome hip, Jaromir Jagr has produced 18 goals and 45 points in 57 games for the Philadelphia Flyers - and his uncanny ability to maintain puck possession still makes him revered by his peers.
That's why, at 40, Jagr was chosen the 18th-best player in the NHL by players in a recent Hockey News poll. Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren and Jagr's agent, Petr Svoboda, have had preliminary discussions on a contract extension. Jagr, a potential unrestricted free agent July 1, would like a one-year deal.
