James Reimer says he "felt all right" in his first start since Feb. 11. The netminder had been dealing with a knee injury, and he saved 23 of 27 shots on Thursday in the 5-4 overtime win. "I felt all right," Reimer said. "Not as good as I would have liked. One of those games where you have to battle for the whole time and hope that you get enough pieces of the pucks to keep your team in it. It was unfortunate to give up a two-goal lead, but the guys held strong."

James Reimer allowed four goals on 27 shots, but earned a victory in the Maple Leafs 5-4 overtime win over the New York Islanders Thursday. Reimer looked shaky throughout this contest, often mishandling the puck and turning the puck over to the Isles. While this wasn't a performance to remember, the young netminder looked strong prior to suffering his most recent injury and appears to have the trust of coach Randy Carlyle.

James Reimer will likely start for Toronto Thursday night on Long Island. Ben Scrivens joined some of the team's healthy scratches for an optional morning skate and he started Wednesday night. Reimer was activated from injured reserve on Wednesday and it appears as though he will get the nod.

James Reimer (knee) has been activated from injured reserve by Toronto and he'll suit up in Wednesday's game. He is expected to dress as Ben Scrivens' backup against Montreal. Reimer strained his MCL on Feb. 11 against Philadelphia, but had been playing superb hockey before heading to the team's injured list. He has a 6-3-0 record with a .929 save percentage and a 2.31 GAA. Reimer and Scrivens will likely battle for starts in Toronto's crease now.

James Reimer is getting closer to a return but is still adjusting to wearing a brace on his left knee. Reimer has been practicing with the Maple Leafs and coach Randy Carlyle was optimistic Tuesday about Reimer's return to the lineup. However, Reimer was a bit more hesitant and doesn't appear willing to rush back until his knee is 100 percent. In the meantime, Ben Scrivens will continue to get the majority of the starts and the two will likely be involved in an full-on timeshare once Reimer is healthy again.

James Reimer (knee) took part in Sunday's practice. "He was better (Sunday) than he was the day before. So I would say he's getting very close," Leafs coach Randy Carlyle said. He wouldn't rule out the possibility of Reimer even returning on Monday, although we wouldn't count on that. When he returns, he'll have to battle Ben Scrivens for playing time.

Randy Carlyle said that James Reimer is making progress toward returning from his knee injury. When, exactly, that means he'll come back is anyone's guess. Ben Scrivens has been fantastic at times in relief, so it's likely Reimer will need to fight for starts either way. Still, he's been solid so far this season.

James Reimer feels his knee injury is "day-to-day" at this point. "Hopefully, we can keep going and come back real soon," Reimer said. "I wish I could tell you I can come back today, tomorrow, Monday or the next but unfortunately I can't. It gets better every day and I'm happy with that." Reimer was great before the injury, but Ben Scrivens has taken full advantage of the opportunity to serve as the team's top netminder. The two should be locked in a fierce battle for playing time once Reimer's healthy.

James Reimer (knee) was back on the ice Thursday morning. Coach Randy Carlyle said he believes that Reimer is "not too far away from practicing with us," which is a good sign after it was feared that he his recovery may not have been progressing as the team originally hoped. Reimer hasn't played since Feb. 11 and his initial timetable was set at seven to 10 days.

James Reimer (knee) took part in Wednesday's optional practice. He faced some shots from goalie coach St. Croix and didn't speak with the media after the session. There's been some speculation that he may have suffered a setback in his recovery from a sprained MCL, but more on his status could be revealed Thursday after the team's morning skate.
