Reimer, who was expected to man the net for the Leafs in Wednesday's game against the Senators, will not play after the contest was postponed in light of the ongoing crisis in Ottawa, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports. Multiple gunmen reportedly fired shots Wednesday morning in the downtown area of the Canadian capital, with one shooter dead and possibly one or more still at large. With several government buildings on lockdown, safety will understandably take greater precedence than proceeding with the game as scheduled. The NHL has yet to announce a make-up date for the postponed contest.

Reimer made 31 saves on 35 shots in Friday's loss to Detroit. It wasn't a bad outing from Reimer, who barely got much support from the Toronto team in front of him. The 26-year-old drops to 2-1-0 on the season, with a .906 save percentage and 2.87 GAA. Reimer, who was making his third straight start Friday, will give way to Jonathan Bernier for Saturday's games vs. the Red Wings.

Reimer worked in the starter's crease at morning skate and is expected to receive the nod Friday against the Red Wings, Jonas Siegel of TSN Radio 1050 reports. The start would mark Reimer's third in a row, but it's probably not worthwhile to read too much into that just yet, since the Leafs were likely to split the weekend back-to-back starts with Reimer and Jonathan Bernier one way or the other. Still, Reimer's productive play thus far (2-0-0, 2.24 GAA, .920 save percentage) has made him more of a factor in the Toronto goaltending picture than was initially projected heading into the season, making Bernier's hold on the No. 1 gig a tenuous one.

Reimer made 22 saves in a 3-2 overtime win over the Avalanche. He came up big when he had to and even survived a delay-of-game penalty when he fired the puck over the glass late in the third. He's won both of his games, so we expect he'll be seeing more playing time, at least in the short term.

Reimer is on track to start Tuesday's game against the Avalanche, TSN's Mark Masters reports. Reimer exited his last start Sunday with a head injury, but the setback did not cost him any practice time, and he looks to be Tuesday's starter after working in the home crease during the morning skate. Reimer will be looking for win number two on the season after picking up the victory in Sunday's contest.

Reimer (head) practiced with the team Monday, David Alter of Sportsnet reports. This is a great sign for the Leafs, since Reimer apparently didn't suffer a concussion in Sunday's win over the Rangers. He'll continue to serve as the backup for Jonathan for the time being.

Reimer (head) stopped 24 of the 26 shots he faced before leaving in the third period of the Leafs' 6-3 win over the Rangers Sunday with an apparent head injury. Filling in for Jonathan Bernier in the team's second game in as many days, Reimer was solid in net before exiting. He reported feeling fine, so it appears it's not a very serious injury, but he was forced to leave the game to comply with the league's concussion protocol.

Reimer left Sunday's game against the Rangers with an apparent head injury, TSN reports. The league's concussion protocol dictated that Reimer leave the game, but he said later that he's "fine." He'll likely be tested to ensure that's the case, but the injury doesn't look to be anything overly serious at this point.

Reimer went the distance Monday in a 3-0 loss to Detroit. He stopped 16 of 18 shots. Both goals that beat him came on the power play, so it's hard to fault him on the night. The Leafs maintain that he has a shot at the starter's gig, but we're not holding our breath.

James Reimer admitted that he didn't see eye-to-eye with Maple Leafs coach Randy Carlyle last season. Reimer also said that he has nothing against playing for Carlyle. The 26-year-old goaltender is coming off of a rough season and has lost the starting job in Toronto to Jonathan Bernier. We wouldn't be surprised if the Leafs trade him before the start of the 2014-15 campaign.
