Jonathan Bernier turned in a rough outing Tuesday against the Predators and missed time during the game due to a cut on his leg, so the Leafs will turn to Reimer on Friday as a measure to afford Bernier some added rest. Bernier will be healthy enough to back up Reimer and is expected to reclaim the net Saturday, when the Leafs will take on the Oilers. For those playing in daily formats, Reimer would seem to be a decent play Friday, despite his own team being mired in a 10-game losing streak. The Devils rank 28th in the NHL in scoring (2.20 goals per game) and 29th in shot attempts (24.3 per game).

Reimer will likely start Friday's game in New Jersey, TSN's Jonas Siegel reports. With the Maple Leafs also playing a game Saturday against Edmonton, Reimer figures to get a start within the next two days. Jonathan Bernier is still getting most of the work, but Reimer sees more action than the average backup.

Reimer entered Tuesday's game with 1:08 left in the second period after starter Jonathan Bernier was cut by his own skate. He played 4:17 in the third before Bernier returned. He did his job. The Leafs were down 2-1 when he entered and he left with the Leafs up 3-2.

Reimer gave up just one goal on 18 shots in Saturday's loss to the Flyers. It wasn't a bad outing from Reimer, but the team couldn't score any goals, so it resulted in the 26-year-old's seventh straight loss. Considering the Leafs went 1-11-1 in the month of January, don't expect Reimer to be of much value when he gets the nod. His .907 save percentage and 3.19 GAA are concerning, so if there are other options out there, it wouldn't hurt to seek them out. The Leafs are falling fast, and Reimer and Jonathan Bernier aren't doing much to help.

Reimer will be between the pipes for Saturday's match against the Flyers, Jonas Siegel of TSN Radio 1050 reports. Though regular starting goalie Jonathan Bernier's final numbers weren't terrible in the Leafs' last game against the Coyotes, he allowed a couple of inexcusable goals in the outing. As a result, Toronto will turn to Reimer in an attempt to bust their ongoing losing skid, which sits at eight games. With a 3.32 GAA and .906 save percentage over 19 appearances, Reimer has been quite unreliable as a streaming option, and his career numbers in six outings against the Flyers (2-3-0, 3.11 GAA, .904 save percentage) don't inspire much confidence, either.

Reimer finished with 22 saves in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to Ottawa. He allowed three first-period goals, but then closed the door until late in the third. The Leafs' goalies are in tough with the team in the state its currently in. We have a hard time recommended either in this situation.

Reimer will be in the net for Wednesday's outing against the Senators, Sportsnet 590 The FAN reports. Reimer's entry into the lineup ahead of No. 1 goalie Jonathan Bernier doesn't come as a huge surprise given his outstanding success throughout his career against the Senators. He owns a 10-2-1 mark, 2.05 GAA and .942 save percentage across 14 appearances, numbers that far outpace what he's typically posted during his five seasons with the Leafs.

Reimer turned away all 18 shots he faced after entering in the opening minute of the second period in Monday's 4-1 loss to the Hurricanes. Starter Jonathan Bernier was lit up, but Reimer used the relief appearance to turn in his second impressive performance in a row. That said, he still won't get many starts, and with a 3.27 GAA he's not a particularly reliable option between the pipes.

Reimer was excellent in turning aside 39 of 41 shots, but ended up on the losing end Thursday against the Sharks. Two early San Jose goals proved too much for the Leafs to overcome even though Reimer locked things down after that. It's a sharp outing, yeah, but it's also Reimer's fifth consecutive loss.

Reimer will start in net Thursday against the Sharks, Jonas Siegel of TSN 1050 reports. Reimer will receive the start Thursday on the second night of back-to-back games. He made 35 saves despite taking a 5-1 loss in his last outing, but will look for better results Thursday after a long layoff between starts.
