Unfortunately, the Buds have provided Optimus Reims with just six goals of support in the past five games. If you have Reimer on the fantasy roster, you're probably loving his tidy 1.98 GAA and .937 save percentage but he'll need more help from the skaters in order to advance his record of 8-7-5 in positive fashion.

Reimer carried a shutout into overtime Thursday, but was beaten by Jordan Staal on the 41st shot he faced.

EDGE Analysis

That's a harsh fate for Reimer, but he's no stranger to the loss column. That's been particularly true so far in January, as Reimer now sports a 1-3-1 record for the month. Of course, you can hardly pin this one on the 27-year-old Reimer, who turned in sparkling work in net, only to see Eddie Lack shut down the Toronto offense on the other end. Jonathan Bernier's lack of consistency and blowup-prone ways should ensure that Reimer continues receiving starting opportunities.

Reimer allowed three goals on 28 shots in a 4-1 loss to Chicago on Friday. The fourth was an empty-netter.

Reimer and the Leafs were victims on behalf of the Patrick Kane show in this one, as the league's leading scorer went off for a hat trick and an assist. Reimer has now lost seven games in a row and hasn't won since Nov. 20, which is somewhat surprising given his numbers this year (2.03 GAA, .934 save percentage through 18 starts).
