Reimer is starting in goal for Thursday night's game against the Lightning.
EDGE Analysis
This comes very much as a surprise as every indication pointed to Luongo being the starter Thursday, especially considering the possibility that Reimer could leave the game early if his wife goes into labor. Either way, Reimer will look to bounce back after allowing three goals or more in his past three starts.

Reimer (personal) will be available to backup Roberto Luongo for Thursday night's game against the Lightning, assuming his wife does not go into labor.
EDGE Analysis
Despite previous reports that Reimer's wife was giving birth last week, it turns out that the couple is still waiting on the baby and so Reimer will be on the Florida bench unless his wife does go into labor Thursday night. If that unexpectedly happens, Panthers sales executive Bobby Segin would be the emergency backup goalie, though neither he nor Reimer are likely to crack many fantasy lineups.

Reimer is heading back to South Florida to be with his wife -- who has gone into labor -- effectively ruling him out for the final two games on a road trip that will wrap up in Arizona on Monday, Craig Davis of the Sun Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Reimer temporarily out of the picture, the Panthers have brought up Reto Berra from AHL Springfield; he'll serve as the backup to Roberto Luongo, at least for Friday night's away game facing the Canucks. This also means that next Thursday is the earliest we could see Reimer back in action.

Reimer set aside 27 of 31 shots through overtime for a 4-3 road loss to the Oilers on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
While Reimer's certainly had better days, it's worth noting that that one of his goals allowed came on an Oilers power play and he had the unenviable task of trying to stop Connor McDavid on a breakaway in overtime -- we know how well that ended. We'd be surprised if the Panthers don't turn back to regular starter Roberto Luongo in Friday's road match with the Canucks, especially since that is Bobby Lu's former team.

Reimer will cover the cage as Wednesday's road starter against the Oilers, Mark Spector of Sportsnet reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Panthers will be going back to the drawing board after dropping a 5-2 decision to the flames at home Tuesday night -- Roberto Luongo was in goal for that one, and now Reimer will be making just his second start in the past six games. He'll match up against an Oilers team ranked 21st in the league by averaging 2.50 goals at home, despite the presence of all-world talent Connor McDavid, who has already crossed the 50-point threshold for the league lead.

Reimer saved 30 of 33 shots during Saturday's win over Columbus.
EDGE Analysis
Reimer hasn't played well enough to steal many starts from Roberto Luongo, as the backup now sports a 7-6-3 record with an average .916 save percentage. With Florida failing to generate much offense (2.29 goals per game), Reimer is nothing more than a depth goalie for your virtual club. Additionally, it isn't out of the question to downgrade him into a streaming rotation because of his lack of starts.

Reimer will guard the cage in Saturday's home matchup with the Blue Jackets, Jameson Olive of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Bruins found the cracks in Reimer's defense in his last start as they forced him to allow a season-high four goals in the loss. The 28-year-old netminder will look for a bounce-back performance but he'll have to do it against a Blue Jackets' offense that averages 3.32 goals per game, third in the NHL.

Reimer, who made his second consecutive start for Florida in place of injured Roberto Luongo, made 33 saves in a 4-0 loss to Boston on Saturday night.
EDGE Analysis
Starter Roberto Loungo is considered day-to-day, so Optimus Reims is now the netminder of choice for the kitties. He turned away plenty of pucks, but got no support from his mates. Reimer is a guy who could carry his team in the absence of the main starter, so check your wire and then hold him until Bobby Lou returns.

Reimer will start in goal Saturday night against the visiting Bruins, Bill Whitehead of the Professional Hockey Writers Association reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Panthers have little choice but to start Reimer on consecutive nights since No. 1 goalie Roberto Luongo is dealing with an upper-body injury. Reimer was up to the challenge in Friday's game against the Predators, setting aside 28 of 29 shots in a home win. Coincidentally, the backup tender has the exact same peripheral numbers -- he's posted a 2.49 GAA and .918 save percentage -- that he had in twice as many games with the Maple Leafs last season. He'll reportedly be backed up by Saturday afternoon's call-up, Sam Brittain.

Reimer saved 28 of 29 shots during Friday's win over the Predators.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran has been solid when called upon with a 4-2-2 record and .938 save percentage through his past nine appearances. Still, there isn't a lot of fantasy value backstopping the offensively challenged Panthers, and Reimer is clearly behind Roberto Luongo on the depth chart. Outside of deep seasonal leagues, Reimer's occasional starts are hardly worth waiting around for. He's more of a streaming target or matchup play in daily contests.
