Reimer was razor sharp for the second straight start, which is intriguing with Roberto Luongo recently inconsistent and a bit banged up as well. It's been an iffy year for the 28-year-old netminder on the whole, though, so he's not likely to carve out what most leagues would consider a fantasy-relevant start total unless Luongo suffers a lingering injury.

Reimer will backstop the Panthers for their matchup with Boston on Thursday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.

This will mark just the third start for Reimer since interim head coach Tom Rowe took over the bench boss role. The new regime has been much more dependant on starter Roberto Luongo. The Bruins are averaging a meager 27.2 shots per game, which should give the 28-year-old Reimer a chance to ease back into game form.

It all adds up to an unfavorable fantasy situation for Reimer, and there aren't many matchups where he can be started confidently.

Reimer will see the game from the goal Friday after seeing it from the bench for the first half of Florida's back-to-back on Thursday night. The 28-year-old backstop has very much embodied the role of the team's backup this season, as he's allowed at least three goals in seven of his nine starts. He'll have a decent chance to turn it around though, as the Avalanche rank 27th in the league with 2.25 goals per game.

Reimer stopped 22 of 25 shots against Philadelphia on Tuesday, giving up the game-winner to Jakub Voracek stick with just nine seconds left in overtime.

EDGE Analysis

A goal late in the third by Jussi Jokinen got the Panthers to OT, but it also led to a worsened stat line for Reimer. He hasn't been very good in his first 10 appearances as a Panther, so Roberto Luongo remains in good position to continue accounting for the vast majority of the starts in net.
