Allen will cover the cage Tuesday night, facing the Senators on the road, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen and the Blues are adjusting to the direction of Mike Yeo, who has gone from an associate coach to the team's chief bench boss following the firing of Ken Hitchcock. Suffice it to say, a top priority will be finding ways to get Allen back on the winning track. He's picked up just two victories in nine appearances since the calendar flipped to 2017, adding a pitiful 3.43 GAA and .871 save mark over that span. Allen's next start will come against an Ottawa team that ranks 13th overall in shooting percentage (9.1) but only 17th in goals per game (2.66) and 20th on the man advantage at 17.4 percent.

Allen is likely to start Tuesday's game against Ottawa, Blues coach Mike Yeo said prior to Monday's game against Philadelphia, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Yeo would like to continue the practice of using both goalies whenever the Blues are playing a back-to-back set. Tuesday would be Allen's turn after Carter Hutton started and backstopped St. Louis' 2-0 shuout over the Flyers on Monday.

Allen, who allowed three goals on 30 shots in Saturday's loss to the Penguins, was "by far the biggest positive of the game," according to Blues coach Mike Yeo, Tom TImmerman of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
For the second time in three games, Allen gave up at least three goals with a save percentage no better than .900, but the Blues are pleased with his performance. There have been breakdowns in front of him and some puck-luck working against the Blues in losses to the Jets and Penguins this week, but Yeo sees signs in Allen to suggest his putrid pre-All-Star break performance is behind him. Unfortunately, for fantasy players, Allen shouldn't be trusted at this time.

Allen made 27 saves but allowed three goals in a 4-1 loss to the Penguins on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Giving Allen extra rest before the All-Star break has yielded mixed results. In two of his three starts this week, he allowed at least three goals, but Allen stopped 26 of 27 shots in the other game. Regardless, Allen continues to frustrate owners with a 18-14-3 record, .897 save percentage and 2.89 GAA. He is one of the most disappointing goaltenders this season.

Allen was designated as Saturday's home starter against the Penguins, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It must be intimidating for Allen to know that he's about to face the top offense in the league, but it's worth noting that Sidney Crosby and Co. could be a bit taxed after surviving a hard-fought battle with the Blue Jackets in overtime Friday night, plus they had to travel to St. Louis. Allen has been more 'miss' than 'hit' this campaign, carrying a career-low .897 save percentage into the next match. It appears that most daily fantasy sites have appropriately adjusted his salary to reflect the recent struggles, but there are far more attractive matchups at play on a 13-game slate.

Allen made 26 saves in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Maple Leafs.
EDGE Analysis
This was a much-needed strong performance for Allen, who had previously allowed at least three goals in five consecutive starts and seven of his past eight. He still ranks 45th out of 47 qualifiers with a paltry .896 save percentage, but will continue to get plenty of opportunities with alternative option Carter Hutton faring no better at .897. Things don't get any easier with the high-flying Penguins next on the schedule before a five-game road trip.

Allen will be in the crease for Thursday's matchup with Toronto, Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen's start will come in the first game since the Blues fired head coach Ken Hitchcock and replaced him with Mike Yeo. More times than not, it seems like teams improve their play after having their coach fired, and research done by DataScience, Inc. seems to support that feeling. Keeping that in mind, if the Blues play better as a team in front of Allen, then his numbers will surely benefit as he will theoretically be facing fewer high-quality scoring chances. Allen has shown that he's a more than capable NHL goaltender, and Wednesday's coaching change could prove to be a turning point in his season.

Allen was the victim of some shoddy play in front of him during Tuesday's 5-3 loss to Winnipeg, Tom Timmerman of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Blues made several mistakes Tuesday and it seems like each one cost them a goal. Whether it was Alex Pietrangelo getting caught up ice, or Jay Bouwmeester losing a puck battle behind the net, or David Perron's turnover in the neutral zone, the errors led to scoring opportunities and the Jets cashed in. Allowing four goals isn't a good look, but they're not blaming Allen for this loss. We suspect he'll return to the crease Thursday against the Maple Leafs.

Allen yielded four goals on 23 shots in Tuesday's 5-3 loss against the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
Allen was outstanding last season, but he has struggled mightily this year. He has given up three or more goals in seven of his past nine appearances. Carter Hutton has been a little more effective lately, and he is eating into the playing time and fantasy value of Allen. Treat Allen as more of a low-end No. 2 fantasy netminder until he starts to show a little more consistency.

Allen will defend the net Tuesday against the Jets, Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen finished the first half of 2016-17 with a decent 17-12-3 record, but his 2.83 GAA and .897 save percentage are much less impressive than his marks last season. Carter Hutton has eaten into his playing time a bit as a result, but Allen will get the first crack at things in the second half against a Jets club that lost two of its last three games heading into the All-Star break.
