Allen was removed from Thursday's game when he fell awkwardly after giving up the fourth goal in St. Louis' 5-2 loss to Tampa Bay.
EDGE Analysis
Carter Hutton relieved Allen for the final two minutes of the game. Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said Allen will be fine, suggesting the goalie will be ready to go when the Blues return from the Christmas break to host Philadelphia next Wednesday.

Allen gave up four goals on 31 shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Blues.
EDGE Analysis
His most recent stretch of inconsistent play is emblematic of Allen's season as a whole -- over his last six starts, Allen's given up 20 goals, alternating a trio of two-goal outings with an equal number of four- or five-goal games. The 26-year-old's 2.63 GAA and .905 save percentage are career-worst marks, but it's reasonable to expect him to bounce back eventually behind a St. Louis defense that's still pretty good.

Allen was designated as Thursday's road starter versus the Lightning, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen will be hoping that his teammates play a disciplined brand of hockey, as the Bolts are currently running the league's third-best power play, converting at a rate of 23.3 percent. It's been tough to gauge the No. 1 backstop this month -- he has five wins in nine games, but also a 2.93 GAA over that span.

Allen allowed two goals on 38 shots in a overtime victory over the Stars on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The Blues gave Allen the night off Monday, and it appeared to pay dividends. Prior to Monday, Allen had played seven straight games and had a .892 save percentage in his previous five starts. Tuesday versus the Stars, Allen stopped 32 of the 33 shots he faced at even strength. Hopefully that's a sign of good thing to come because the 26-year-old owns a disappointing 2.57 GAA and .907 save percentage.

Allen will get the start in the second game of the back-to-back on Tuesday against Dallas.
EDGE Analysis
After playing in seven straight, the 26-year-old will get a night off Monday as Carter Hutton gets the start. Allen hasn't been sharp lately, with a .898 save percentage and 2.93 GAA in the last seven games. Thankfully for his owners, he plays middle-of-the-road Dallas, who averages 2.55 goals per game, so he'll have a chance to improve upon his recent stats.

Allen had an awful third period and allowed five goals on 35 shots in loss to the Blackhawks on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
St. Louis had a one-goal lead thanks to a later second-period goal, but Allen gave up three scores on 11 shots in the third. It's the second time in three starts where Allen has give up five goals in a game. He has a solid 15-7-3 record, but his other numbers are disappointing. He came into Saturday with a 2.50 GAA and .907 save percentage, and after the loss, his save percentage for the month dropped to .892.

Allen will defend the cage against Chicago on Saturday, Lou Korac of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Allen has dropped three of his last five outings in which he posted a .901 save percentage. This marks the first real hiccup in the netminder's otherwise stellar start to the 2016-17 campaign. The 26-year-old goes up against the rival Blackhawks for the third time this season, having split the previous two matchups.

Allen turned away 24 of 26 shots in Thursday's 5-2 home win over New Jersey.
EDGE Analysis
He'd dropped three out of four games in a subpar road trip, so perhaps Allen was just pining for a return to home cooking. Of course, it didn't hurt that the Devils own a bottom-five offense. The 26-year-old's home-road splits have been pretty extreme this year, and you'll want to take that into account when setting your fantasy lineups.

Allen will start in goal at home versus the Devils on Thursday night.
EDGE Analysis
Allen is an attractive play in daily formats for a couple of reasons. For one, he's facing a Devils team ranked 23rd at 2.39 goals per contest. Also noteworthy is how he's dominated for a 10-0-2 record, 1.79 GAA and .932 save clip in the friendly confines of the Scottrade Center. And yes, Allen surrendered a three-goal lead for a disappointing loss to the Predators on Tuesday, though he's still backed by a group of defenders allowing the third-fewest shots per game (27.2) this campaign.

Allen blew a 3-0 lead and ultimately gave up five goals on 28 shots before being pulled from Tuesday's loss to Nashville.
EDGE Analysis
Well, that was ugly. The Blues built him a three-goal edge early in the second period, but Allen gave up two goals in the following five minutes, then saw the game get totally out of hand in the final frame. He's been uncharacteristically blowup-prone this year, with six outings of four-plus goals in 24 games; Allen only had nine such appearances in 47 contests last year. The result has been substandard rate stats, particularly his .907 save percentage -- a surprise while playing behind a St. Louis defense that has a stingy reputation.
