Jake Allen was beaten for two goals in Tuesday's loss to San Jose. He made 23 saves in a 2-1 defeat versus the Sharks for his first loss of the season. Allen may be up with the team on borrowed time now that Jaroslav Halak is presumably healthy to play again. Although Halak didn't back up Allen on Tuesday.

Jake Allen will be between the pipes on Tuesday when the Blues host the Sharks. Allen is off to a great start with a 3-0 record as he had replaced Brian Elliott in goal while Jaroslav Halak was injured. Halak seems to be healthy now but coach Ken Hitchcock continues to go with the hot hand of Allen. He has average peripherals with a GAA of 2.76 and a .888 save percentage.

Jake Allen allowed three goals on 31 shots in a 4-3 shootout win over the Canucks. Allen has now won three straight outings while Jaroslav Halak returns from a groin injury. For his part, Halak served as Allen's backup for this contest, proving that he's fully healed although it might be hard for the Blues to go away from the hot hand.

Jake Allen will start for the St. Louis Blues against the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday. This will be Allen's third consecutive start. With Jaroslav Halak sidelined, Allen seems to have temporarily leapfrogged over Brian Elliott in the depth charts.

Jake Allen made 30 saves on 32 shots in St. Louis' 5-2 win over Calgary on Friday night. Allen won his second straight NHL start but was much better this time around, as his first start saw him surrender three goals on 18 shots.

Jake Allen is projected to start on Friday. Allen allowed three goals on 18 shots on Wednesday, but that was good enough for St. Louis to earn a 4-3 overtime win. This will be his second career NHL start.

Jake Allen won in his first NHL start as the Blues knocked off the Red Wings 4-3 in overtime Wednesday night. It didn't start off too promising as the 22-year-old gave up a goal on the first shot he faced and the Blues were down 2-0 by 7:54 of the first period. Altogether, he made 15 saves. Depending on how Jaroslav Halak's groin behaves, Allen could be in for a handful of starts in the coming weeks. It also helps him that Brian Elliott hasn't exactly been dominating, either.

Jake Allen will start Wednesday's game against Detroit. Brian Elliott has struggled while trying to fill in for injured starter Jaroslav Halak, so the Blues appear to be trying something else in an effort to shake things up. It will mark Allen's first career start and his second appearance of the season. He played in relief of Elliott back on Feb. 5 against Nashville, where he allowed two goals on eight shots.

Don't be surprised if Jake Allen gets the nod on Wednesday. Although Blues coach Ken Hitchcock hasn't made it official, he has strongly hinted at starting Allen over Brian Elliott. "Before he came up to (serve as) back up, Jake was playing the best hockey he's ever played in his life, so we can't discount that," Hitchcock said. "We've got to be cognizant of that, and Brian's struggled. So sometimes a mental break for Brian might work, too. We just have to discuss it and see what's best for the goalie and the team."

St. Louis Blues recall G Jake Allen from AHL Peoria. The Blues originally sent Allen down to Peoria on Sunday but recalled him Tuesday after Jaroslav Halak re-injured his groin. It remains to be seen how long Halak will be sidelined, but Allen could get a start this week with Brian Elliott struggling.
