Andersen (undisclosed) was not present at the team's practice Monday.
Andersen exited Sunday's game in the third period due to the upper-body injury, and his absence from practice leaves him trending towards being unavailable Tuesday against the Panthers. If that ends up being the case, Ilya Bryzgalov will likely start in his place, and the team should also recall another goaltender to take his place.

Andersen was removed from Sunday's game against the Lightning in the third quarter due to an undisclosed injury.
Andersen endured a rough night in every way, as he allowed five goals on 22 shots to the highest-scoring team in the NHL. The net was knocked into him in the final 10 minutes, and the Ducks subsequently brought in Ilya Bryzgalov. If Andersen isn't ready for Tuesday's game in Florida, Bryzgalov will likely get the start.

Andersen will receive the start in net Sunday against the Lightning, the Orange County Register reports.
Andersen received a day off Friday after carrying the team to victory Thursday by stopping 44 of the 46 shots he faced. This one won't be a cakewalk, as he'll face the league's top offense; the Lightning are averaging 3.18 goals per game.

Andersen made 44 saves on 46 shots in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Predators.
Pekka Rinne returned for Nashville in this one, but the promised goalie duel didn't materialize, as Andersen sparkled while Rinne turned in a pedestrian performance. He's had a couple less-impressive games recently, but the Danish goalie just keeps on racking up wins -- nine of them in his last 10 starts.

Andersen will be in the net for the first game of the Ducks' back-to-back set Thursday against the Predators, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Andersen will square off against Pekka Rinne (knee), who returns from a multi-week absence Thursday. It might be one of the few occasions Andersen finds himself as the underdog the rest of the way, as he's thus far compiled a 28-7-5 record over 42 games. He's shown some chinks in the armor in his last two turns, however, surrendering four goals apiece to the Blackhawks and Hurricanes. Those recent performances -- coupled with the tough matchup -- make him less of an automatic roll for fantasy owners than he otherwise would be.

Andersen gave up four goals on 32 shots Tuesday against Carolina, but the Ducks stormed back from a two-goal deficit in the third period and earned an overtime win.
Andersen had better be buying steaks for his skaters after this one. It's his second consecutive four-goal outing, but the beauty of playing for the Ducks is that you can win plenty of those three- and four-goal games. Hence Andersen's 28-7-5 record.

Andersen was first off the ice at morning skate, indicating that he'll start Tuesday's game against Carolina, Elliott Teaford of the Los Angeles News Group reports.
Andersen allowed four goals in Friday's loss to the Blackhawks, but Tuesday brings a much more favorable home matchup with the Hurricanes. The Danish netminder will be looking for his 28th win of the season.

Andersen allowed four goals on 33 shots in a 4-1 loss to the visiting Blackhawks on Friday.
Freddy was essentially done-in by dominant performances by Blackhawks stars Patrick Kane (two goals and an assist) and Patrick Sharp (four assists). The loss snaps a seven-game winning streak for Andersen, who has been dynamite for Anaheim this year with a .918 save percentage, 2.27 GAA and an eye-popping 27-7-5 record through 41 performances. The only potential hazard here is fatigue, as no goalie in the Western Conference has spent more time between the pipes (2,383:51 TOI) than Andersen -- especially as the Ducks dont have a reliable backup at the moment with Ilya Bryzgalov having posted horrendous numbers (.832 save percentage, 4.69 GAA) in five appearances this season.

Andersen will be in the net for Friday's game against the Blackhawks, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Coach Bruce Boudreau planned all along to save Andersen for Friday's showdown with the Blackhawks, but likely didn't expect his No. 1 twinetender to log more than a period of action in Thursday's loss to the Sharks. Another horrendous outing by backup Ilya Bryzgalov, who gave up five goals before getting pulled Thursday, reinforced that Andersen will handle a heavy workload for the Ducks in the second half. As his numbers this season (27-6-5, 2.22 GAA, .919 save percentage) would attest, Andersen makes for a sound option just about any occasion he's in the net.

Andersen played the final 23 minutes of Thursday's 6-3 loss to the Sharks, stopping all eight shots he faced.
The Ducks were counting on backup Ilya Bryzagalov to provide them with a solid outing in order to save Andersen for Friday's massive tilt with the Blackhawks, but he didn't oblige, surrendering six goals on 25 shots before getting the yank. Though he played more than anticipated Thursday, Andersen is still in line to start Friday. Expect confirmation to come down at some point in the afternoon.
