Andersen will likely start Friday's game against the Avalanche, Ducks color commentator Dan Wood reports.
There was a bit of initial confusion, but Andersen was first off the ice at Friday's morning skate. Assuming Andersen does in fact get the nod, it will bring an end to John Gibson's four-game starting streak.

Andersen let in two goals on just 16 shots as the Ducks lost 2-1 in regulation to Vancouver on Monday.
Despite the light workload, Andersen failed to earn his 31st win of the season. He's allowed six goals on 36 shots over his last two starts, so he'll need to turn things around in a hurry if he hopes to fend off John Gibson for starting duties in Anaheim.

Andersen is slated to start Monday's game against the Canucks, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Andersen allowed four goals on just 20 shots in a 5-2 loss to Pittsburgh on Friday, but it's worth noting that he is 3-0-1, with a 1.19 GAA and .947 save percentage in four appearance against the Canucks this season.

Andersen was the first goalie off the ice Monday, indicating that he is in line to start the Ducks' evening game against the Canucks, Helene Elliott of the L.A. Times reports.
Andersen is thus in line to have an opportunity to bounce back Monday from a rough outing against Pittsburgh on Friday, in which he allowed four goals on just 20 shots in a 5-2 loss.

Andersen was terrible at home against Pittsburgh on Friday, getting lit up for four goals on just 20 shots in a 5-2 loss. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.
Despite the fact that he was facing Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin & Co., this was precisely how not to fend off John Gibson from cutting into more of his playing time. You have to wonder if the news that coach Bruce Boudreau was planning to split starts between Andersen and Gibson got into Freddy's head -- or if it was just one of those inevitable bad games that all goalies have once in awhile -- but either way, owners should be concerned. What Andersen has done up to this point is great and all (30-9-4 record, 2.38 GAA and .915 save percentage), but his opportunities to grab additional wins could be in jeopardy if Gibson continues to man the blue paint in Orange County. Keep an eye on the situation.

Andersen, who has been confirmed to start Friday's game against the Penguins, is set to split the goaltending duties with John Gibson through the remainder of the season, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Coach Bruce Boudreau suggested after Friday's morning skate that the Ducks would adopt the timeshare in goal, with both netminders likely alternating starts. Should Boudreau stick with that plan, Andersen's rest-of-season value would take an obvious hit, as he's been a bountiful source of wins prior to missing time with an upper-body injury, going 30-8-5. With fewer opportunities for Andersen to build his counting statistics, fantasy owners may want to consider dangling him for a goalie option that stands to see more use over the final few weeks of the season.

Andersen was first off the ice at morning skate, indicating that he'll likely start Friday's game against the Penguins, NHL.com's Curtis Zupke reports.
Andersen is set to make his second start since returning from an upper body injury, after stopping 29-of-30 shots in Tuesday's win over the Coyotes. After Friday, the Ducks won't play again until Monday, when they're scheduled to face the Canucks in Vancouver.

Andersen allowed one goal on 30 shots as he collected the win Tuesday night in Arizona.
This was Andersen's first start in nearly a month after a head/neck injury kept him out of the lineup for much of February. The win marks his 30th of the season, good enough for sixth amongst goalies in the NHL. Andersen remains a must start option in all formats.

Andersen has been confirmed as the starter in goal for Tuesday's game against the Coyotes, Elliott Teaford of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
It will mark Andersen's first game since suffering a neck injury in his Feb. 8 start against the Lightning. John Gibson filled in admirably in Andersen's stead and has been especially sound in his last handful of outings, which may result in the Ducks employing a timeshare in goal over their next several games. That was precisely the situation that both goalies found themselves to start the season, only for Andersen to quickly emerge as the No. 1 option after Gibson floundered in the opener and later was reassigned to AHL Norfolk.

Andersen (upper body) was first off the ice at the Ducks' pre-game skate, indicating that he'll start Tuesday's contest against the Coyotes, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.
Andersen is thus on track to make his first appearance in net for the Ducks since Feb. 8. With Andersen in line to start Tuesday, look for John Gibson to tend goal for the team Wednesday against Montreal.
