Andersen was terrible at home against Pittsburgh on Friday, getting lit up for four goals on just 20 shots in a 5-2 loss. The fifth goal was an empty-netter. Despite the fact that he was facing Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin & Co., this was precisely how not to fend off John Gibson from cutting into more of his playing time. You have to wonder if the news that coach Bruce Boudreau was planning to split starts between Andersen and Gibson got into Freddy's head -- or if it was just one of those inevitable bad games that all goalies have once in awhile -- but either way, owners should be concerned. What Andersen has done up to this point is great and all (30-9-4 record, 2.38 GAA and .915 save percentage), but his opportunities to grab additional wins could be in jeopardy if Gibson continues to man the blue paint in Orange County. Keep an eye on the situation.
