Keith will miss the next four to six weeks after undergoing knee surgery to repair a right meniscus tear Tuesday, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
It's a huge blow to the Blackhawks, who are already extremely thin at defense, and will now be without their best defender for the next four to six weeks. Michael Rozsival has resumed skating with the team, but isn't eligible to return to game action until Nov. 2, which may be an overly optimistic target date for his return. Kyle Cumiskey will likely be recalled by the Hawks from AHL Chicago to occupy Keith's spot on Chicago's 23-man roster after he inevitably lands on injured reserve, but the Blackhawks may explore other options, such as adding another defender via trade or free agency. Given his current recovery timetable, at the very least, Keith will be sidelined until Nov. 21 against the Canucks.

Keith scored the game-winning goal in Monday's Stanley Cup-clinching win over the Lightning, and was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the playoffs.
Keith followed up his own shot and was able to put in the rebound, as Corey Crawford and the rest of his mates did the rest to secure Chicago's third Cup in six years. The defenseman was sensational all throughout the playoffs, tallying 20 points and averaging over 31 minutes of ice time per game. Keith's point production in the regular season didn't approach his personal bests, but he figures to be one of the better options on the blueline once again in the 2015-16 season.

Keith dished out two assists in 27:51 of ice time in Saturday's Game 7 win over the Ducks.
That's a five-game point streak for Keith, who has been an absolute monster this postseason. Through 17 games, the clear Conn Smythe favorite has dished out a whopping 16 assists and is sporting an NHL-best plus-13 rating. Logging crazy minutes and driving the offense from the back-end, look for the two-way stud to play a massive role in the Stanley Cup Final against the Lightning.

Keith set up three of the Blackhawks' five goals in Wednesday's Game 6 win over the Ducks. He was honored with the game's first star.
Keith has accumulated more minutes than any player in this postseason, but it didn't prevent him from being the most dominant skater on the ice Wednesday night with the Blackhawks' backs against the wall. In addition to making his presence felt offensively with his fourth multi-point match of the playoffs, Keith helped preserve a one-goal advantage early in the third period when he knocked away a shot at the goal line that Corey Crawford couldn't find. Keith's statistical production declined during the past regular season, but the two-time Norris Trophy winner has sparkled throughout the postseason. He now has 16 points in 16 games.

Keith registered a power-play assist in Tuesday's triple-overtime win over the Ducks in Game 2.
Keith saw a game-high 49:51 of ice time a byproduct of both the length of the game and the increasing unreliability of Kimmo Timonen, who deserved some blame for the first-period goal by the Ducks' Andrew Cogliano. After averaging 25:34 of action in the regular season, Keith has now surpassed that mark in all but one of the Blackhawks' 12 playoff games. His offensive production hasn't seemed to suffer because of it, as the assist went down as his 11th postseason point.

Keith contributed two assists in Friday's Game 1 win over the Wild.
What a playoff this guy is having. Keith has recorded five points in his last two games and now has nine points in this postseason -- second most in the NHL. He's logging heavy minutes and is jumping into the rush whenever he can, firing nine shots on goal in his last two outings. The 31-year-old kicked off Round 2 with a bang and should be a force all series for Chicago.
