The center has five points over his last three games and now has 24 goals and 54 points in the campaign. Add 97 penalty minutes, and you've got yourself a pretty valuable fantasy player. David Perron (19th) had the other goal. Penalty-minute collector Scott Nichol had 21 and was a minus-two.

David Backes appears as though he will be able to play on Wednesday despite blocking a shot off his foot on Saturday.
He left that contest after the play, but was back on the ice Tuesday and showed no ill-effects. "Yeah, no complaints," Backes said after resting for two days. "It's a work in progress, the training staff has been great. If you're going to play all the games, you're going to have some bumps and bruises that you have to play through. This is one of those occasions." Backes provides a great deal of fantasy value in multiple categories. He has recorded 21 goals, 48 points and 93 penalty minutes in 73 games this year. The Blues captain also has a plus-17 rating, 206 hits and 207 shots.

Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said David Backes is fine despite a scare late in the third period of Saturday's game.
Backes left the game due to a possible head injury after absorbing a crosscheck from Minnesota's Warren Peters. Peters left the game and might be suspended for his actions. However, it looks like Backes will still be available for Sunday's game. We're still a little nervous, because when it comes to possible head injuries, we've heard news that was initially encouraging prove to be overly optimistic. That being said, we will continue list Backes as healthy unless something changes between now and the Blues' next game.
