Backes has simply been unstoppable of late, with six points over the course of this streak and a whopping 11 over his last nine contests. He's as good as they come in the category of points-and-PIM contributors.

Backes handed out a pair of assists and picked up an empty-net goal Tuesday in a 4-0 win over Calgary. The goal was a peculiar sort of empty-netter, coming as it did with 5:35 remaining in the third period after the Flames pulled goalie Jonas Hiller absurdly early in a desperation play. Backes now has points in three straight and has rattled off a sizzling total of 10 (four goals, six assists) in his last eight games.

Backes picked up a pair of assists, went plus-1 and was stuck with a minor penalty Tuesday in a win over the Jets. Backes' well-rounded fantasy stat line just keeps getting rounder and rounder, as he's coming up on 50 points, which goes awfully well with his 94 PIM and 189 hits. He's also picked up five points in his last four games. In fantasy formats that use those tough-guy categories, he's gold.

Backes scored his 22nd goal of the season Saturday in a 6-1 win over Toronto. He was plus-1 with four PIM, two shots, and three hits in the contest. Backes has three goals and four points in his past six games to bring him to 44 points on the season. He is one of the league's best power forwards with 186 hits and 92 PIM on top of his usual steady scoring. Roll him everyday.

Backes scored his 21st goal of the season, dished out an assist and recorded seven hits in Sunday's loss to the Canucks. A good all-around fantasy outing from Backes, who now has 43 points and 88 PIM in 63 games. Centering the top line, the 30-year-old is a reliable goal-scorer who contributes in multiple fantasy categories.

Backes scored his 20th goal of the season Wednesday in a 5-2 loss to Montreal. He was plus-1 with three shots, four hits, and two blocks in the contest. Backes reaches the 20-goal mark for the fourth consecutive full season (not counting the lockout) and has 41 points on the year. After a scorching hot January and early February, this was his first point in four games. Backes played with T.J. Oshie and Patrik Berglund in this one and the trio had some chemistry - hopefully it will start another hot streak for Backes.

Backes picked up 12 PIM and dished out four hits in Saturday's loss to the Penguins.While he's been held pointless in four straight games, the gritty top-line center has picked up 16 PIM in that span. He's got 19 goals and 40 points in 58 games and should get back on the scoresheet soon enough. He's on track for another 25-goal, 55-point season.

Backes scored the game-winning goal among his four shots, added on a assist, went plus-3 and racked up four PIM in Thursday's win over the Lightning.Now that's cross-category contribution -- but it's something Backes owners should be accustomed to, as their man has provided one of the finest points-and-PIM combos in the league, as usual. After going buck-wild in January, he's calmed down in February, but remains a consistent fantasy contributor.

Backes scored his 18th goal of the season Sunday in a 4-2 loss to Chicago. He took three shots and added four hits and a blocked shot in the contest. While his recent point streak came to an end, Backes continues to roll offensively - half of his goals and 19 of his 37 on the season have come since the calendar flipped to 2015. The production will flatten out, but Backes is back to being what his owners expected at the start of the year and should finish with 50-60 points and another 25 goal season under his belt.

Backes' nine-game point streak came to an end Sunday in a win over the Caps when he was ejected for boarding on Washington defenseman Karl Alzner. He was assessed 15 PIM and credited with two hits prior to his ejection. Backes hit Alzner squarely in the back and while it may not result in a suspension the ejection was automatic because Alzner was cut above his eye. In his nine-game point streak Backes wracked up an impressive 16 points (to bring his season total to 35) and it included five multi-point efforts.
