Daniel Carcillo played 8:20 minutes in his return from a knee injury. Carcillo missed a month due to his knee problem. He started the season as a top-six forward, but he lost that spot during his time on the sidelines. That hurts his offensive potential, but he should still get plenty of PIM either way.

Daniel Carcillo (knee) will play on the fourth line Friday. When Carcillo sustained the injury, it looked like he'd get top-six minutes this season. Carcillo might have lost that opportunity for now, but he'll still be a good source of penalty minutes.

Daniel Carcillo (knee) says he's ready to return but won't play Tuesday night. Carcillo has played in only one game this season after being limited to 28 games last season. He has some fantasy value thanks to a decent scoring touch and heavy amounts of penalty minutes, but he's not worth stashing in most formats. Leave him on the waiver wire and monitor his progress.

Daniel Carcillo (knee) practiced with his teammates for the first time since suffering a spained right knee Jan. 19. "Everything's going well," Carcillo said. "Rehab went well and I feel strong on the ice. It's just a matter of time when they'll make the decision and I'll get the call to go in. I feel strong. It's encouraging." He was hurt in the first game of the season after missing most of the 2011-12 campaign due to an injury to his other knee.

Daniel Carcillo (knee) is getting close to returning, but the big question is where he'll play when he's healthy. Carcillo started the season on the Blackhawks' first line, but Brandon Saad has looked good in that position in Carcillo's absence. "We love those kinds of decisions," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said. "We welcome tough ones and depth is something we went into the start of the season -- you know you're going to get tested and challenged. Today we look relatively healthy. But we'll see. "

Daniel Carcillo (lower body) skated with the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday morning. Steve Montador (concussion) also joined this morning's skate, although he remains sidelined indefinitely. Carcillo is expected to miss at least another week with the injury and should get top-six minutes upon his return. Carcillo has missed all but one game this season with the injury but did register an assist in his lone appearance.

Daniel Carcillo (lower body) is expected to miss at least two more weeks. Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville isn't sure if Carcillo's resumed skating as Carcillo has been rehabbing in Chicago during the Blackhawks' road trip. Carcillo was hurt in Chicago's season opener.

Daniel Carcillo is "progressing" in his return from a right knee sprain, according to Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville. The coach won't put a timetable on his return just yet, but it's unlikely he'll return before the Hawks return from their six-game road trip on Feb. 12. The feisty winger was hurt in the season opener Jan. 19. "He's progressing (and) he seems happy with where he's at (but) I don't want to put a timeline on it yet," Quenneville said. "His workouts are getting a little more intense than they were the first . four or five days of probably not doing much at all."
