It appears that Daniel Carcillo's issue is a knee injury, which is expected to sideline him for about one month. There are some bright sides, though. It's his right knee, not a recently surgically repaired left one. Also, he isn't expected to go under the knife. Carcillo isn't a big-time contributor, although the possibility of landing with high-end teammates makes him occasional watch list material, if nothing else.

Daniel Carcillo is out with what's believed to be a leg injury. Carcillo sustained the injury in the third period of Saturday's contest. "Danny is going to miss some time here," coach Joel Quenneville said. "We'll know more exactly about the time frame by (Sunday)." Carcillo was playing in his first game since Jan. 2, 2011. He underwent knee surgery to repair his ACL last year.

Daniel Carcillo has been skating alongside Jonathan Toews and Marian Hossa. "Cars is an energy player," Hossa said. "Basically, he can go hard to the net and get extra room for the chances, so it's going to work out great for us. He gets his feet going and he's really a huge key in our line because he makes room for us." Carcillo figures to get a ton of penalty minutes, but he might also break the 20-point mark if he can stay on a scoring line this season.

Daniel Carcillo got plenty of extra time to recover form a torn ACL in his right knee due to the lockout. Carcillo underwent surgery in January 2012. "Everything feels good," he said. "It's been a long year and I'm definitely excited to get started. Getting back into game shape now is my big concern -- the stops, the starts, coming off the turns and that sort of thing." Carcillo, like all players, will only get a week of training camp with no exhibition games before the season starts. Consequently, he's likely to be one of the many players that's rusty at the start of the season.

Daniel Carcillo is looking forward to the start of the NHL season as he has recovered from a torn ACL in his right knee and subsequent surgery in January. Carcillo is also looking to change his image as an enforcer, an image that has been shown to be true with 1068 penalty minutes in 310 career NHL games, and become a complete hockey player. "I've been feeling I have something to prove my whole career, to be honest," Carcillo said. "I came in and I got pigeonholed into a certain role which is obviously not what I want to be known for ultimately. There's always room to improve and get better and prove to myself more than anything that I can be an effective player and a useful tool in any situation on any team." Carcillo has shown some scoring touch and could score 20 goals in a full NHL season in the right circumstances.

Daniel Carcillo has purchased a $640,000 penthouse in Lincoln Park, Chicago. Of course, the NHL is locked out so Carcillo isn't getting paid right now, but he did make $775,000 last season and $1.075 million in 2010-11. Carcillo has signed with the Chicago Blackhawks through 2013-14, so it makes sense that he'd want to get comfortable in Chicago.

The Chicago Blackhawk players have hired Chicago Wolves skating and skills coach Kenny McCudden to run their practices during the lockout. Players like Jonathan Toews and Jamal Mayers were doing double duty as they were playing and trying to run an organized practice so the addition of McCudden will help. "He's awesome. His drills are great," Daniel Carcillo said. "As you can see there aren't many guys out here but he keeps the line moving. They aren't the same drills so it's not redundant. It's not too hard; but it's a lot of puck-handling and things you need to sharpen up and the other stuff will come if and when we get back to work."

Daniel Carcillo (knee) is still skating with some of his teammates despite the fact that the players are locked out. Carcillo is recovering from his January knee surgery. "It feels good to be out with everyone," Carcillo said. "I feel sluggish. I haven't skated all that much lately. It's good to be back and get going again and be out with some of my teammates." Carcillo might be ready for the start of the season, assuming we get a new CBA before any regular season games get canceled.

Daniel Carcillo is almost completely recovered from his January knee surgery. "I've been in the clear to do everything and start pushing it. It's been going well," Carcillo said. He says he feels stronger than ever and should be ready for the start of training camp. He might end up among the league leaders in penalty minutes while providing fantasy owners with modest contributions offensively.

Daniel Carcillo, who underwent surgery back in January to reconstruct the ACL in his left knee, has resumed skating. "(Carcillo) is close to 100 percent," GM Stan Bowman said. "He would certainly be ready to roll even if training camp were to start in a week or two." He appeared in only 28 games with the Hawks in 2011-12, while recording 11 points and 82 penalty minutes. He should be able to provide points and PIMs next year if he is given a regular roster spot by Chicago.
