Daniel Carcillo didn't practice on Thursday because of an upper-body injury and is questionable for Friday's game. Coach Joel Quenneville said the injury isn't believe to be serious. Carcillo has nine points and 60 penalty minutes in 26 games this season.

After sitting out as a healthy scratch on Saturday, Daniel Carcillo was back in the Chicago Blackhawks' lineup on Tuesday. The hardest thing for Carcillo has been being the tough-as-nails player the Hawks signed and one who hopes to chip in when playing with Marian Hossa and Patrick Kane on the second line, where he was again on Tuesday. Coach Joel Quenneville said he won't "measure [Carcillo's] game by offensive production," but by his intensity. After a good start, Carcillo admitted his play had "dipped a little bit." Before being scratched, he was held off the scoresheet in five consecutive games, his ice time significantly dropped and he was moved to the fourth line. "It's tough," Carcillo said. "For me to be effective, I have to play the same way every night and I got a little bit away from that. The biggest thing is being on the forecheck, being on the body and getting under people's skin. That comes with skating, working hard and getting those guys pucks and finishing my checks on the right players."

Coach Joel Quenneville will get Daniel Carcillo back in the Chicago lineup 'soon'. Carcillo was a healthy scratch on Saturday for the first time this season. He started off on the second line early in the campaign but has seen limited minutes of late. "We want him a little more consistent in his game," Quenneville said. "I'm not criticizing his game because he's been very effective for us." He may not be in the lineup Tuesday so don't be counting on it.

Daniel Carcillo was a healthy scratch Saturday night against the Kings. It was the first time this season that Carcillo sat in the press box. Hawks' coach Joel Quenneville has not been happy with Carcillo's play of late and wanted to give John Scott a chance to dress as a forward. "I thought (Carcillo) had a great start," Quenneville said. "He hasn't been at that same pace. I still think he's going to be an important part of our team." That said, we hope this isn't the beginning of a repeat of his experience in Philadelphia where he sat out more times than he played.

Daniel Carcillo is minus-three in his last three games and his time on ice has dropped under 10 minutes. "I'm not happy," Carcillo said about his game. "I haven't been contributing offensively the last couple of games. It would be nice to help the team and get some scoring from different areas, but it's been a tough stretch." When on, Carcillo is capable of 200-plus penalty minutes and 25-30 points, making him a very valuable fantasy player if you play those categories. Unfortunately, Carcillo has not done this in a while.

Daniel Carcillo scored a goal in Sunday's contest after undergoing dental surgery earlier in the weekend. Carcillo was struck in the mouth by a puck during Friday's contest. The Blackhawks have kept Carcillo on the second line for most of the season and that's led to him scoring two goals and seven points in 14 games. Given that Carcillo also accumulates a lot of penalty minutes, he has some fantasy value this season.

The agitating Chicago Blackhawks winger is expected to play against the Edmonton Oilers despite taking a puck to the mouth in Friday's game. Daniel Carcillo reportedly underwent surgery to fix a tooth he lost and also needed stitches around the area that was damaged by that wayward shot. Carcillo has been the typical source of penalty minutes (32 so far), but with three points in his last two games, the polarizing forward now has a solid six points on the season. He's certainly worth a look in PIM leagues.

Daniel Carcillo returned in the third period Thursday after taking stitches to his lips. Carcillo was hit by the puck in the mouth and was rewarded with an assist when he set up Patrick Kane in the third period for a breakaway goal. Carcillo has fit in nicely on the second line with Kane and Marian Hossa and because of his penalty minutes is worth a spot in your fantasy lineup.

After sitting out a two-game suspension, forward Daniel Carcillo will return to the Chicago Blackhawks' lineup in Florida tonight and promises to be as aggressive as ever. Carcillo was suspended for a hit on Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Joni Pitkanen. "If I change my game, I wouldn't be playing in this league anymore," Carcillo said. "I have to play a certain way. Like I said at the beginning of the year, with the way the game is being called now, it was just a matter of time before something happens. Something happened." Carcillo took a verbal shot at Pitkanen. Asked if he thought he extended his arms too much on the play on Pitkanen, Carcillo said: "No. "I thought he went down. It's Joni Pitkanen, you know? Ask around the league. He's a big guy but doesn't play like it. It was a quick play. It happened. And that's that."
