Anderson will be the starter for Thursday's opener against the Predators, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Anderson took a huge step back last season with a 3.00 GAA and .911 save percentage, but still managed to provide a 25-16-8 record over his 53 appearances. Even after the disappointing season, the Senators rewarded him with a three-year, $12.6 million extension, which should give him some level of job security over backup Robin Lehner.

Anderson will start Wednesday's split-squad game against the Maple Leafs, Wayne Scanlan of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
Anderson is expected to be between the pipes for the entire contest, while Robin Lehner does the same for the Senators in the other split-squad game occurring at the same time in Toronto. The fact that both goalies are playing full games this early in the preseason suggests that coach Paul MacLean hasn't decided on who is No. 1 netminder will be entering the season. The expectation here is that Anderson will get the nod, by virtue of his longer tenure with the organization, as well as the three-year extension he signed in August.

Anderson inked a three-year contract extension with the Senators on Friday.
Anderson will get an average of $4.2 million over the three years, a larger contract than the one signed by his fellow netminder and teammate, Robin Lehner, earlier in the offseason. His contract was set to expire following next season, but now he will battle Lehner for the starting gig for the next four seasons.

Craig Anderson had one of his better nights on Tuesday in what has been a sea-saw season for the veteran, making 45 saves in a 4-1 win over the Isles.
Overcoming two straight losses and a horrible performance (7 GA) on Friday, Anderson propelled the Sens to the victory. Frans Nielsen was the only opposing player to get the puck past Andy, who has literally been great on some nights, and bad on other nights this year. He is 24-16-8 this season with a 3.06 goals against average and .909 save percentage.

Craig Anderson will get the nod for Ottawa on Tuesday on Long Island.
Robin Lehner was very good in Saturday's win over the Rangers, so it's a bit surprising that Anderson is getting the start. Anderson also allowed seven goals on 23 shots in a 7-4 loss to Montreal on Friday during his last outing. His play has slipped considerably this season. He had a .941 save percentage and a 1.69 GAA in 24 games during the lockout-shortened campaign, but this year he owns a .907 save percentage and a 3.10 GAA in 51 appearances.
