Cory Conacher has been ice cold offensively this year. He has generated only two goals and one assist in 18 games. Conacher hasn't scored a goal since Oct. 15 and he hasn't earned a point in his last seven outings. He's slated to start Friday's game on a line with Jason Spezza and Milan Michalek.

Cory Conacher netted his second goal of the season to give Ottawa a 4-3 overtime win over Phoenix on Tuesday night. Conacher has primarily played on the Senators' second line at the start of the 2013-14 campaign. He has nine shots and a plus-4 rating this year.

It looks as if Cory Conacher has won a job on Ottawa's second line. He should line up alongside Kyle Turris and Clarke MacArthur and play on the Sens' second power-play unit. RA repeat of his .60 points-per-game output in 2013 is looking more promising if he keeps this gig.

Cory Conacher is the frontrunner to replace Daniel Alfredsson as a top six forward in Ottawa. Five of the Sens' top six forward spots are filled by Jason Spezza, Bobby Ryan, Milan Michalek and Kyle Turris. One remains available and Conacher holds the edge over Mike Hoffman, Mark Stone, Andre Petersson and Shane Prince. If Conacher does grab this gig, he will likely be able to at least duplicate his 29-point performance in 47 games of last season.

Cory Conacher has started off training camp alongside Kyle Turris and Clarke MacArthur. While others will also get a chance to play alongside Turris and MacArthur, it will increase Conacher's fantasy value if he gets the role on the second line. Conacher got off to a hot start with Tampa Bay last season and was mentioned as a candidate for the Calder Trophy early on but was dealt to Ottawa as the Lightning needed a goaltender and Ben Bishop was available. Conacher had nine goals and 24 points for Tampa Bay in 35 games but had only five points in 12 games for Ottawa as he seemed to be the odd-man out at times. He rebounded a bit in the playoffs with three goals in eight games. He should get 40-45 points this season as he will likely bounce around between a top and bottom six forward.

Cory Conacher is playing for the Senators on Friday night. With Mark Stone hurt, Conacher gets another chance in the lineup with Ottawa's season on the line. Conacher didn't play in Game 4, and he has three goals in seven playoff games this season, though he has notched just one shot on goal over his last three contests.

Cory Conacher recorded a pair of goals for Ottawa Thursday as they eliminated Montreal from the playoffs with a 6-1 drubbing. Despite the fact he was a healthy scratch for Game Two, Conacher still tallied three times in the series. Erik Condra also registered a goal and two assists for the Sens in this game while Daniel Alfredsson, Zack Smith and Kyle Turris all found the back of the net as well.

Cory Conacher produced his first NHL postseason marker in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over Montreal. He picked an excellent time to get his first point of the series. Conacher sent the game into overtime by scoring with just 22.6 seconds remaining in regulation to help the Senators erase a two-goal deficit in the third period. He was a healthy scratch in Game 2, after being used sparingly in Game 1, but in the past two contests his ice time has increased. He was also on during a crucial time in Game 4, so coach Paul MacLean appears to be getting more comfortable with the diminutive rookie.

Cory Conacher's status for Sunday's game against the Montreal Canadiens is uncertain after the winger was a healthy scratch in Friday's contest. Conacher watched Game Two of the series from the press box as the coaching staff chose to insert the rugged Matt Kassian in his place, perhaps anticipating rough play after the injury suffered by Lars Eller in Game One. If the team is intent on generating more offense than they did in Friday's defeat Conacher will be on the ice.
