Cory Conacher has picked up at least one point in all three games to start his NHL career. He opened the season with a pair of multi-point efforts and produced his second goal of the year and first game winner in Tuesday's 4-1 victory over Carolina. Conacher has five points in his first three games with the Lightning. Given his size and ability, he is already drawing comparisons to teammate Martin St. Louis. Ride him while he's hot, but don't expect him to maintain this kind of pace.

Cory Conacher potted a goal and also registered an assist in his NHL debut Saturday night. Conacher was the AHL's MVP and Rookie of the Year after recording 39 goals, 80 points and 114 penalty minutes in 75 games last season. He's definitely worth a look in 14-team leagues if he keeps a gig in the show as a top-six forward.

Cory Conacher thinks controlling his emotions will be key going into his NHL debut. "There are so many emotions going into tonight's game it's going to be important for me to control them somewhat and act like I've been in this position before and to be comfortable, but not overly comfortable," Conacher said. He's excelled at the AHL level and should start the season as a top-six forward. He's worth taking a chance on late in standard drafts.

Cory Conacher has cracked Tampa Bay's opening nigh roster. "We feel he has done a lot in the American League already .and if you look at his year and half, he has continued to improve," coach Guy Boucher said. "I like his grit, I like his relentlessness and I always have, so he deserves it." During training camp, he has been skating with Vincent Lecavalier and Teddy Purcell, while also working on the second power-play unit. The reigning AHL MVP may be worth picking up late in your drafts.

Cory Conacher has been skating alongside Vincent Lecavalier and Teddy Purcell at training camp. "They are really giving me a good opportunity," Conacher said. "It's really been a dream to play in the NHL so it's important for me to take advantage of this and hopefully show the coaching staff that they haven't made a mistake by putting me there and I have to do the things that make me belong on that line." Coach Guy Boucher likes Conacher's speed and his willingness to push the pace. Conacher was outstanding in the AHL last year and he was playing great in the minors during the lockout as well, so the Lightning appear to be willing to give him a shot in the NHL.

Cory Conacher is heading to Tampa Bay for training camp. The 23-year-old forward recorded 28 points in the minors during the lockout, and he is coming off an 80-point campaign last year. If Conacher makes the club, he could garner some value in deeper leagues because of the points-penalty minutes upside. He had 114 penalty minutes last year and already had 56 this season.

Cory Conacher erupted with a one-goal, two-assist Wednesday night as Syracuse crunched Binghamton 5-2 on Wednesday. Conacher went four games without scoring a point until tonight. Even so, he's having a strong AHL season with 11 goals and 25 points in 29 games. He faces an uphill battle as a diminutive scorer, but if any team should appreciate him, it's the Tampa Bay Lightning. They've seen it work with Martin St. Louis, after all.

Cory Conacher potted a goal in Syracuse's 4-3 loss to the Adirondack Phantoms Saturday night. Conacher will compete for a roster spot with the Lightning as soon as the lockout ends but needs to work on the defensive side of his game if he wants to stick around in the Sunshine State. The 2012 AHL most valuable player might have a little bit of fantasy value if he gets some playing time on the first two lines.

Cory Conacher may have gotten a realistic shot at the NHL if it wasn't for the lockout, but that hasn't stopped him from picking up where he left off last season in the minors. The 2012 AHL most valuable player currently sits third in league scoring with 12 points (six goals, six assists) after eight games. Conacher, who was just a rookie last year, wants to continue developing so that when he gets the call to play in the NHL, he is ready. "I know everyone is going to be watching, all the management. So it's important for us young guys to continue to develop," he said. "So that's what I'm working on is to keep developing as a player and develop into a professional athlete. I'm still a young player and I have a lot to learn and this is a great year to do that."
