Coach Guy Boucher relayed Sunday that MacArthur (concussion) is still targeting an early-January return to the lineup,
EDGE Analysis
MacArthur hasn't played in a regular-season game since early last season, playing in four games before an earlier concussion cost him the remainder of the campaign. He's now on track to rejoin the lineup, but likely has an increased risk of suffering more concussions that could again sideline him for an extended period of time. Given his extended time off, it's tough to know how effective he will be when healthy, but the veteran does have a track record of success at the top level. The team should update MacArthur's status further as he begins closing in on a return to the ice.

MacArthur (concussion) has been officially cleared for contact in practice, TSN 1200 reports.
EDGE Analysis
MacArthur's situation is a bit shaky given that he missed nearly the entirety of last season due to a concussion and suffered another one during training camp on a hit by teammate Patrick Sieloff. It appears he's finally closing in on a return to the ice for the first time since early last season, but--given the severity of the last two-- he may be prone to another. When healthy, the veteran winger has been relatively productive for the Senators. In 2014-15, he notched 36 points over 62 contests and had an even better season with 55 points over 79 games in 2013-14. However, it's unclear what impact an extended stay on the sidelines and multiple concussions will have on his game when he finally returns.

MacArthur (concussion) expects to play this season and is aiming to return in January, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is the first timeline that's been disclosed during MacArthur's lengthy recovery from a concussion. It's certainly possible the winger is out for longer and he's yet to receive medical clearance. While he may be a contributor at one point this season, owners don't need to scramble to pick up the 31-year-old.

MacArthur (concussion) was able to skate Tuesday morning, but his injury status remains unchanged, Adam Kimelman of NHL.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
MacArthur is still on injured reserve not knowing exactly when he'll be able to make his season debut. Given the litany of concussions that have plagued him throughout his career, you're going to see the Senators medical staff make every effort to ensure that MacArthur receives the proper treatment.

MacArthur (concussion) was absent from Monday's practice to undergo further testing, Ken Warren of the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
MacArthur has been skating with the team, so it's worth passing along that the winger did not suffer any setbacks. However, the 31-year-old still remains without a timetable to return.

MacArthur (concussion) participated in practice wearing a non-contact jersey, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
MacArthur traveled with the team on their road trip, but the winger is not expected to suit up in a contest. The 31-year-old had yet to skate with the team since suffering a concussion during a scrimmage, so any on-ice activity is a positive sign for his recovery. There remains no timetable for MacArthur's return.

Although MacArthur (concussion) has yet to begin skating, the winger will join the team on their upcoming road trip, Ken Warren of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
EDGE Analysis
MacArthur is tired of being away from the Sens and wants to be a part of the team functions. While it's a good sign that he's able to travel, the winger remains out with his second concussion in the past year.

MacArthur (concussion) has been placed on injured reserve according to the NHL Media site.
EDGE Analysis
MacArthur will visit a concussion specialist in the near future after suffering his second in as many season. He missed all of last year with the injury but had made a recovery before taking a hit from teammate Patrick Sieloff that resulted in his second. More on his prognosis could surface following the doctor visit but he will at least begin the season on IR.

MacArthur is set to see a concussion specialist to determine his status, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
While the date of the visit is unconfirmed, it will happen this week. This essentially rules MacArthur out for the opener against Toronto, which was a forgone conclusion before the news of a scheduled appointment. With his history of concussions, it's tough to gauge when we'll see the winger on ice again.
