MacArthur scored the game-winning goal in overtime of Game 6 versus the Bruins on Sunday. The Senators won the game 3-2 and the series 4-2.
EDGE Analysis
One of the unlikeliest of heroes, MacArthur scored his first goal in two years last week. His second of the series advanced Ottawa into the second round. MacArthur, who missed most of this season with a concussion, is clearly finding his game again. If there's any fantasy value to be had, it might be on the power play. Both of MacArthur's goals in the series came on the man advantage.

MacArthur scored a power-play goal in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Bruins.
EDGE Analysis
It was his first goal in almost two years. MacArthur wasn't expected to play this season, but battled back from a devastating concussion in training camp to return to action four games before the playoffs. MacArthur's last goal came on April 19, 2015.

MacArthur worked with Bobby Ryan and Kyle Turris on the team's second scoring line in practice Tuesday, Ian Mendes of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
MacArthur returned from a lengthy absence due to concussion, finishing up the regular season on a high note. It's a great story to see MacArthur return to action and he could be a nice sleeper in postseason pools if he logs plenty of time on the power-play unit and sticks in a top-six role. Still, with his propensity for injury there is quite a bit of risk involved when selecting him.

MacArthur (concussion) will return to the lineup Tuesday night against the Red Wings.
EDGE Analysis
This is a big test for MacArthur as he hits game ice for the first time since Oct. 14, 2015, when he sustained a concussion just four games into the regular season. He's been through the proverbial gauntlet trying to make his return, but even when he does suit up, don't expect a whole lot of minutes from the winger. Hopefully all goes well for MacArthur -- who turns 32 years old Thursday -- so that he isn't forced to retire prematurely.

MacArthur (concussion) continues to feel good as he makes his way back from a concussion and feels he could contribute right now, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
MacArthur wants to know before leaving for the summer if it is worth it for him to come back to training camp in the fall, so he is hopeful of taking the baseline test again to see where he is in terms of progress from concussion. He has suffered multiple brain injuries over his career and it's possible he could call it quits if not enough progress has been made. MacArthur is a guy with plenty left in the tank physically, but his history with concussion makes his hockey future rather murky.

MacArthur (concussion) was on the ice before Wednesday's practice taking shots at goalie school, Ken Warren of the Ottawa Citizen reports.
EDGE Analysis
MacArthur is battling back from a concussion suffered in training camp, the fourth in 18 months for the veteran. The club is taking it slow with his recovery since there is a real concern about post-concussion syndrome that could affect him for the rest of his career and in everyday life. Ottawa has added plenty of depth at the forward position, so there is no reason to rush him back this season.

MacArthur (concussion) has been ruled out for the rest of the season, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
MacArthur sustained his fourth concussion in the past 18 months in training camp, and the obvious concern is that the post-concussion syndrome could affect him for the rest of his career and in everyday life. It's a sad development, but as much as the Senators would like to have the top-six forward in the lineup, keeping him away from the intense grind of hockey seems like a wise choice at this juncture.

MacArthur (concussion) did some skating Saturday, but the Senators have no timetable for his return, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Citizen reports. "We're trying to move onto the next step and it's just the beginning so there's nothing new [for MacArthur," coach Guy Boucher said.
EDGE Analysis
MacArthur is believed to have underwent a baseline test Friday to determine the next step in his recovery process from post-concussion syndrome, but the Senators haven't provided any confirmation on that matter, nor have they outlined a rehab plan for the winger. He hasn't appeared in a game since Oct. 14, 2015 and likely still remains at least another week away from a return, even if he's able to resume practicing in the next few days.

Coach Guy Boucher indicated Saturday that MacArthur (concussion) could be in line for a late-January or early-February return to the lineup, the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
MacArthur has been sidelined for all of this season and most of last season due to separate concussions, but the veteran appears to finally have a timetable for a potential return. The winger's status should be updated again as he draws closer to rejoining the lineup, which will be preceded by an activation of injured reserve.

MacArthur (concussion) will not make his return Jan. 7 against the Capitals, but he will look be cleared after Christmas, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.
EDGE Analysis
MacArthur is still completely confident he will play this season. The winger will have multiple chances in early January if he passes his concussion tests, as the Sens have a four-game home stand beginning Jan. 7. While his return isn't guaranteed, the 31-year-old could be a solid stash if he's able to return to full health and step back into the lineup. Ottawa would welcome back his scoring mindset, although it should be expected that MacArthur will be eased back into action.
