Clarke MacArthur was back with Mikhail Grabovski and Nikolai Kulemin at practice on Tuesday.
He is eligible to return to the lineup on Saturday against Calgary after sitting the first two games of the season due to a suspension. MacArthur didn't skate on Monday because of an elbow infection, but he should be ready to go versus the Flames.

Clarke MacArthur is eligible to play in Toronto's next game as he has served his two-game suspension for his hit to the head of Justin Abdelkader in a pre-season contest.
Toronto does not play again until Saturday against the Flames, but you should get ready to activate MacArthur who will bump rookie Matt Frattin off the second line. Look for the veteran to once again be effective alongside Mikhail Grabovski and Nikolai Kulemin on a very potent second unit.

Clarke MacArthur has agreed to a two-year/$6.5 million contract extension with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
MacArthur broke out last season with a 21-goal, 62-point campaign, but it remains to be seen if he can do that again. Prior to the 2010-11 season, he had never recorded more than 35 points in a single season. Leafs GM Brian Burke didn't want to sign him to a long-term contract because he's only had one good season, so the pressure will be on MacArthur to prove that his 2010-11 season wasn't a fluke.

The Toronto Maple Leafs want Clarke MacArthur back, but Leafs GM Brian Burke doesn't want to sign him to a long-term contract.
Burke doesn't want to hand a long-term contract to a player that's only had one productive season. MacArthur broke out in 2010-11 with 21 goals and 62 points in 82 games, but he never had more than 35 points in any of his previous campaigns. MacArthur is eligible to file for arbitration and that's probably what he'll end up doing.

Leafs GM Brian Burke doesn't anticipate losing Clarke MacArthur or any of his other restricted free agents.
"Clarke MacArthur has arbitration rights and he may well file for arbitration. We're fine if that's what he chooses," said Burke. "We have a lot of financial clout behind this team and we have a lot of cap space. We're not worried about someone trying to take a player out of here through an offer sheet and we anticipate we'll be able to re-sign all the players we want to re-sign." MacArthur should get a sizable raise from the $1.1 million he made in 2010-11 after recording 62 points in 82 games. Luke Schenn and Tyler Bozak are also scheduled to become restricted free agents this summer.
