Clarke MacArthur has signed with Eispiraten Crimmitschau of the German Elite League. MacArthur will join fellow NHLers Wayne Simmonds and Chris Stewart on the German squad. MacArthur had only 43 points in the 2011-12 season after his breakout 62 point performance the previous year in which he scored 21 times and assisted on 41. MacArthur is expected to arrive in Germany on Wednesday and practice the next day. He will return to the Maple Leafs at the conclusion of the lockout.

Clarke MacArthur is not optimistic about a quick labor resolution and he's ready to turn his focus to Europe in the near future. "Looks like we are a long ways away," the Maple Leafs winger said. "There are a lot of mixed emotions. We're hockey players and we want to play hockey. It's a great game and to sit out the whole winter, it would not be good for either side."
