Chris Pronger's wife, Lauren, echoed her husband's disappointment and concern when discussing his status with CSN this week.
She said he has, "good days, bad days. It's been a lot of trauma going on, and we're just praying right now....He's battling. He wants to be out there more than anybody. It's tough for all of us to watch him go through this." Pronger isn't expected to return this season because of post-concussion syndrome.

Chris Pronger (concussion) released a discouraging statement on Saturday.
"It is very, very tough right now," Pronger said. "I don't feel well and it hurts so much not to be playing." Although Flyers GM Paul Holmgren has left the door open to the possibility of Pronger returning at some point during either the regular season or playoffs, we probably won't see Pronger play again until 2012-13.

The Philadelphia Flyers aren't ready to completely dismiss the possibility of Chris Pronger (concussion) returning this season.
"I think right now, Chris is not an option," Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said. "If he gets better somewhere over the next month, months, we'll address that when we get there." It sounds like if Pronger does return, it won't be for several months. It's also worth noting that doctors Maroon and Collins recommend that Pronger be kept out for the regular season and playoffs. In other words, while there's still a silver of hope, it would be shocking if Pronger plays again this season.

Chris Pronger has been shut down for the remainder of the 2011-12 season because of post-concussion syndrome.
"After consultation with respected concussion specialists Dr. Joseph Maroon and Dr. Micky Collins, it is the opinion of both doctors that Chris is suffering from severe post-concussion syndrome," GM Paul Holmgren said Thursday. "It is the recommendation of Drs. Maroon and Collins that Chris not return for the remainder of the 2011-12 season or playoffs. Chris will continue to receive treatment and therapy with the hope that he can get better." Pronger struggled with injuries last year, while appearing in 50 games, but this campaign was even worse as it will come to an end with him skating in a mere 13 contests.

The Flyers haven't given official word on Chris Pronger's status yet, but speculation is circulating that he could be done for the season.
He was already out indefinitely with a concussion, so we'd be surprised if that was the announcement the team was set to make. Stay tuned for something concrete to come down from GM Paul Holmgren.

The Philadelphia Flyers will provide an update on Chris Pronger's condition Thursday.
He visited with concussion experts, at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Wednesday and the Flyers will have more information on what happens next for their captain after consulting again with their doctors. Pronger has been sidelined indefinitely since Nov. 19 after his concussion-like symptoms worsened. He had been experiencing headaches, nausea and fatigue, but played through them against Winnipeg before being removed from active duty.

Chris Pronger, who has concussion-like symptoms, will head to Pittsburgh to be examined by oncussion specialists Mickey Collins and Joe Maroon on Wednesday.
Collins and Maroon helped Sidney Crosby. "Over the last few days, he's had some difficulties - a fairly persistent headache, just a sluggish feeling. . . . So we're just trying to do the right thing here and get him checked out by the doctors in Pittsburgh and see what we're dealing with," Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said. "Is it a concussion? I don't know that we know that just yet. We want to get a better idea, obviously." Pronger has been forced to sit out of more than half of the Flyers' games due to the concussion-like symptoms, a knee injury that required surgery, and an eye injury.

Chris Pronger, who is recovering from a knee surgery, also has concussion-like symptoms.
To summarize, Pronger was initially sidelined with a mystery virus, then he had knee surgery that was expected to keep him out until late December, and now he's out indefinitely. It's possible, that the mystery virus is the concussion-like symptoms that he's now. We'll keep you posted.
