Chris Pronger will start rehabbing his surgically repaired knee on Friday, but his mystery virus is still giving him some problems.
He has been experiencing headaches and nausea, but said he passed his concussion test. The hard-luck defenseman has missed 10 games already this season after he sat out 32 contests a year ago. Pronger said his recovery time after the procedure is about three to six weeks when the Flyers commented that it could be four. Stay tuned.

Flyers GM Paul Holmgren believes Chris Pronger will return to the lineup "within four weeks" if not sooner.
Given all that Pronger has already been through this season with an eye injury and a recent virus, one cannot help but wonder about any time table with respect to this latest setback. The club announced Monday that surgery will be performed on the captain's left knee. For those keeping score, it will mark his fifth surgical procedure in the last 16 months.

Chris Pronger will miss the next four weeks after undergoing knee surgery.
Yes, Pronger had reportedly been sidelined since November 19th because of a virus. As it turns out, Pronger had also been suffering from a knee injury and while the team hoped it would solve itself while Pronger was recovering from the illness, they ultimately decided that surgery was the best option available to them. Unfortunately, this is not the first time that the Flyers have painted an injury as minor over the last few seasons, only for it to turn out to be much worse than feared. However, this might be the first incident of a Flyers player being reported as out with a virus before ultimately undergoing knee surgery.

Chris Pronger is still day-to-day with a virus.
He missed four games last week because of this unspecified illness, but is expected to travel with the team when they leave for California on Tuesday. The Flyers don't play until Friday against the Ducks, so Pronger has time to rest up.

Chris Pronger returned to action on Wednesday night against Tampa Bay, but he wasn't happy with the play style of Philadelphia's opponent in the contest.
The Flyers chose to sit with the puck in their own zone and not advance into the Lightning's defensive 1-3-1 setup. "That's not hockey in my book," Pronger said. "Would you pay money to watch that? That was a [national] TV game, too. Look at the [offensive] players they've got there. Way to showcase the product." The Philadelphia captain posted one shot and four penalty minutes in 25:22 of ice time in his first game back since Oct. 24 due to an eye injury.

Chris Pronger will return to Philadelphia's lineup on Wednesday night from an eye injury.
He has missed six straight games with the ailment, but is ready to skate alongside defense partner Matt Carle against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Pronger should help the Flyers' power play which has struggled in his absence. The team posted a record of 3-2-1 without him, so he should be welcomed back with open arms by his teammates and fantasy owners alike.
