Chris Mason will get the nod for Winnipeg when the Jets play host to the Los Angeles Kings Thursday. Coach Claude Noel said earlier this week that he planned to give Mason a start to keep him active. Mason last played on Dec. 17 when he made 33 stops in a 5-3 win over Anaheim.

Chris Mason will play between the pipes against Carolina on Friday. Mason has only played in five games this season, but two of them have been against the Hurricanes. It's not hard to see why the Jets would decide to put him against them again, given that Mason has a 1.07 GAA and .950 save percentage versus Carolina this season.

Mason hasn't seen any action since his brief appearance on Oct. 27 against Philadelphia, as number one netminder Ondrej Pavelec has started 12 straight games.
