Chris Mason will start against Florida on Friday. Ondrej Pavelec is getting the night off after stopping 30 of 31 shots in a 2-1 victory. Mason has done a great job in the backup role this season, but he has won just one of his last four starts.

Chris Mason allowed two goals on only 16 shots in the Jets' 2-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes Monday night. The 35-year-old received the start in place of workhorse netminder Ondrej Pavelec and now sports a 6-5-0 record on the season for the Jets. Mason probably shouldn't be starting on anyone's fantasy roster unless the matchup is perfect. Pavelec will get the start Tuesday against the New York Rangers.

Look for Chris Mason to get the nod against Carolina on Monday night. He has three wins in two starts against the Hurricanes this season. Mason's relief appearance on Oct. 22 helped the Jets come back and win at home and it earned him two more starts against Carolina afterward. He hasn't been confirmed as the team's starter, but with Winnipeg playing Tuesday night as well versus the New York Rangers, the move to go with Mason wouldn't be surprising.

Chris Mason was pulled from Tuesday's game after allowing four goals on 15 shots. Mason lasted less than half the game before being sent to the locker room for an early shower. Ondrej Pavelec replaced him mid-way through the second period and went on to allow one goal on the five shots he faced in that span.

Winnipeg's Chris Mason will make consecutive starts in goal for the first time this season when he goes tonight against the Devils in New Jersey. It's a nice little reward for his 25-save effort in a blanking of the Senators in Ottawa on Monday night. The 35-year-old's second shutout of the season and 23rd of his career lifted his mark to 6-3-0 with a 1.99 GAA and .923 save percentage.

Chris Mason made 25 saves for his second shutout of the season in a 2-0 win over the Ottawa Senators on Monday night. It was a rare start for Mason, who now sports a 6-3-0 record on the season with the win tonight. Mason has had an up-and-down career with some great seasons as a starter and some significant disappointments. Unfortunately, his game fell apart last season with Atlanta and it has been an uphill battle ever since. There's only a select few goalies 35-years-old and up who can still hold their own until they get pushed aside. Mason seems excited to play in Winnipeg this season but he probably shouldn't be starting on anyone's fantasy roster unless the matchup is perfect.

Chris Mason will probably play between the pipes for the Jets on Monday. Mason was the first netminder to get off the ice Monday morning, which is usually a good indication of who will play in the following contest. He has a 2.23 GAA and .915 save percentage in 11 games this season.

Chris Mason allowed four goals on 25 shots in Winnipeg's 4-0 loss to Toronto Thursday night. It was a rare start for Mason, who relieved starter Ondrej Pavelec Wednesday night in a 7-3 loss to Montreal. Mason did nothing to enhance his credentials against the Leafs. It will likely be another two weeks before he gets another chance in the Jets' net.

Look for Chris Mason to get the start Thursday night against Toronto. Ondrej Pavelec started Wednesday night and was bombed by the Canadiens 7-3. Adjust your goaltending rotation accordingly.

Chris Mason got his first start between the pipes in nearly two weeks and set aside 31 shots in the Winnipeg Jets' 1-0 overtime win over the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday night. The 35-year-old received the start in place of workhorse netminder Ondrej Pavelec, and the Jets couldn't be any happier about the road performance. Winnipeg will typically give up its fair share of shots so it will rely on its goaltender to keep it in games a little more than the average team, and Mason was up to the task against the Kings who had won four of five. The Jets are 9-3-1 in December.
