Kunitz is confirmed back in Pens' lineup Saturday, skating left wing on a line with Sidney Crosby and Patric Hornqvist. The trio will look to regain some of the its early season fantasy magic. Kunitz had picked up points in his last three games before getting hurt Nov. 29 and will look to make it four straight games Saturday.

Kunitz (foot) was activated from injured reserve Saturday, Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. The activation was a foregone conclusion after Kunitz declared himself ready to play following his participation in the Penguins' morning skate. He's slated to reclaim his spot on the top line with Sidney Crosby and Patric Hornqvist, while also joining the top power-play unit. The winger has potted nine goals and added 11 assists over his 23 games on the season.

Kunitz (foot) took part in Saturday's morning skate and is expected to play later in the evening against the Panthers, NHL.com's Wes Crosby reports. Kunitz took part in line rushes and was also a participant in power-play drills, an indication the Penguins are treating him as if he'll be active Saturday. The team will still need to bring him back from injured reserve, but that appears to be just a formality at this point. Kunitz has been out since Nov. 29 with the fractured foot, missing eight games as a result.

Kunitz (foot) will likely return to the lineup Saturday against Florida, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. Pens coach Mike Johnston said Friday that Kunitz is a game-time decision but added he's "really close right now." The forward, who's scored nine goals and 20 points in 23 games, was paired with Evgeni Malkin prior to getting hurt. Johnston has yet to reveal whether Kunitz will skate with Malkin or Sidney Crosby upon his return.

Kunitz (foot) is considered close to a return, but will not play Thursday against the Avalanche, Josh Yohe of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. Kunitz first resumed practicing with the team Wednesday, so it's understandable that the Penguins aren't willing to rush him back into a game a day later when he probably still needs to get his conditioning up to snuff. Assuming that his broken foot doesn't cause further problems while he skates the next couple of days, look for Kunitz to potentially suit up for Saturday's tilt with the Panthers.

Kunitz (foot) joined the Penguins for Wednesday's practice, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Kunitz worked out with the team's strength and conditioning coach beforehand, and was given clearance to practice after experiencing little pain with his broken foot. The winger has been out since Nov. 29 and may need to log multiple practices before the Penguins clear him for a return from injured reserve.

Coach Mike Johnston said that he hopes Kunitz (foot), who skated prior to practice Monday, will return to practice later in the week. He still needs to be cleared by trainers before practicing, but there's a chance he could return in a week or so. Kunitz hasn't played since fracturing his foot Nov. 29 against Carolina.

Kunitz (foot) skated on his own prior to Monday's practice, Root Sports Pittsburgh reports. Kunitz attempted to skate last week as well, but was unable to, so this is certainly an improvement. He'll still need to return to a full contact practice before being ready to suit up for a game again, but Monday was a step in the right direction.

Kunitz (foot) attempted to skate prior to Thursday's practice but was unable to do so, Josh Yohe of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. After the rest of the team completed the practice, coach Mike Johnston said that the winger was "progressing slowly" with his recovery from the foot injury. Kunitz was only expected to miss about two weeks after he was diagnosed with a foot fracture on Dec. 2, but at this point, it looks like it might be wise to push back his recovery timetable a couple more weeks.

Kunitz (foot) was moved to injured reserve Friday, Seth Rorabaugh of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. The Penguins placed Kunitz on injured reserve in order to clear a roster spot for winger Rob Klinkhammer, who was acquired in a trade with the Coyotes earlier in the day. Kunitz is set to miss at least the next two weeks after sustaining a slight foot fracture a few days ago.
