Kunitz was moved to a third line with Nick Bonino and Daniel Sprong on Friday in practice, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Dating back to last year, Kunitz has one point in his last 25 regular-season games. There was talk that Pittsburgh could try to trade him during the summer but nothing happened. His trade value is likely even lower now, so the Pens will have to hope he finds his game playing for them. Kunitz still sees time on the top power-play unit so he hasn't lost all of his fantasy value -- provided his overall game hasn't left him.

Kunitz replaced Patric Hornqvist on the Pens' top power-play Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Kunitz didn't figure in on any scoring but he did screen goalie Roberto Luongo on Sidney Crosby's power-play marker. Although the move may not be set in stone it potentially gives Kunitz a bit more fantasy value. The winger has zero points on 14 shots with 21 hits in six games.

Kunitz has one point, a goal, in his last 22 regular season contests dating back to the 2014-15 campaign.
EDGE Analysis
He's registered 62 hits over the span but fantasy owners looking for the point per game player from a couple years ago will likely have to look elsewhere. Oddly, it appears his hands have gone before his skating speed. Kunitz is still taking shifts with Sidney Crosby and when Crosby finds his range then Kunitz will score a few points. Long term, however, the 36-year-old's best days appear to be over.

Kunitz again skated on a line with Sidney Crosby and Phil Kessel on Saturday afternoon against the Blue Jackets.
EDGE Analysis
It would be highly surprising to see Kunitz start the 2015-16 season anywhere other than on a line with Crosby and Kessel. It seems as though he's rededicated himself to playing the physical brand of hockey that earned him playing time with Crosby. The Penguins do have more options, however, so if there's any falloff in Kunitz's play then he could lose his spot.

Kunitz tallied a pair of assists while skating on Pittsburgh's top line with Sidney Crosby and Phil Kessel on Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
EDGE Analysis
Coach Mike Johnston called him one of the "leading candidates" to skate with the big boys. "I like Kuni's jump," Johnston said. "I thought he had a lot of jump (Tuesday). Good legs. He's had good legs all camp. It looks like he has a lot more energy. That's a positive sign for him right now." The 36-year-old has had strong starts the past couple seasons before tailing off down the stretch.

Kunitz practiced on the top power-play unit Saturday along with Sidney Crosby, Phil Kessel, David Perron, and Kris Letang, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
EDGE Analysis
Kunitz has been a stalwart on Pittsburgh's top man-advantage unit but the addition of Phil Kessel and promotion of Derrick Pouliot could force him to the second team. The subject of trade rumors, Kunitz produced only 11 points in 36 post All-Star games. Pittsburgh would probably like to get his near $4 million cap hit off the books, making it questionable how much longer he stays with the Pens.

Kunitz scored his first goal of the playoffs and added two helpers in Saturday's Game 2 win over the Rangers. A dominant effort from Kunitz, who also dished out five hits and recorded a plus-2 rating. After being held pointless in Game 1, Kunitz was bumped up to Sidney Crosby's line for Game 2 and he didn't disappoint. With the series now tied 1-1, look for Kunitz and Crosby to continue to pile up points for Pittsburgh. If Kunitz can play like the 35-goal scorer he was in 2013-14, the Penguins could have a chance to get past the Rangers in the first round.

Kunitz tallied a power-play goal in Sunday's 3-2 shootout win over the Sharks. The first-period tally gave Kunitz his first goal since Feb. 25 and his first point in 13 games. Though he has three 60-point campaigns on his resume (including a career-best 68-point output just last season), Kunitz makes for a tough activation at the moment while he remains stuck in a prolonged offensive slump.

Kunitz picked up 14 penalty minutes in Sunday's loss to the Red Wings. It's Kunitz's highest PIM total of the season, but it's likely not significant enough of an output for his fantasy owners to excuse him for his lack of scoring since the beginning of February. He's currently gone a season-long five games without a point, and has registered only one goal and seven assists over the last 20 games. With linemate Evgeni Malkin (undisclosed) now nursing an injury, Kunitz's fortunes may not improve in the immediate future.

Kunitz netted his 16th goal and assisted on a power-play marker Wednesday in Washington. Kunitz could've had more points if not for goalie Braden Holtby's point-blank range robbery of Kunitz early in the first period. The veteran forward skated on Pittsburgh's No. 1 power-play unit over David Perron, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the two players flip-flop, given the team's struggles. Kunitz now has 16 goals and 37 points in 53 games.
