Brent Seabrook netted his first goal of the season on Wednesday. Seabrook has reached the 30-point milestone in each of his last three campaigns, but of course he's not expected to continue that trend through the 48-game season. Still, he should get plenty of time with the man advantage and be a solid addition to any fantasy squad.

Brent Seabrook had the game-winning goal as the Chicago Blackhawks eked out a 5-4 win versus the Nashville Predators on Saturday night. The Hawks jumped out to a 4-0 lead, then managed to give up four straight goals. Seabrook's ninth came at 8:19 of the third period, and he also had an assist. The 26-year-old has totaled 33 points after 48 last season. Other two-point players included Patrick Kane (goal, assist) and Andrew Shaw (two assists). Patrick Sharp (32nd), Dave Bolland (19th) and Viktor Stalberg (20th) had the other markers.

Brent Seabrook scored the only Chicago goal in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Devils Tuesday. With Duncan Keith serving a five-game suspension for his hit on Daniel Sedin, Seabrook is being relied upon more than ever and he responded by logging nearly 30 minutes and burying his eighth of the campaign.

Brent Seabrook has been excellent for the Blackhawks at both ends of the ice of late. He has posted two goals and three assists during his present five-game point streak and has registered a plus-8 rating over that span. Seabrook has topped 26 minutes of ice time three times during that time and he hasn't played lower than 24 minutes. The 26-year-old defender has endured some rough patches offensively this year, but thanks to his hot recent hot streak he has reached the 30-point mark.

Brent Seabrook registered his 20th assist of the season on Tuesday. Seabrook broke a nine-game pointless slump with that assist. After recording a career-high 48 points last season, Seabrook will finish no where near that mark in 2011-12. That's in large part due to his decline in productivity with the man advantage. He has three power-play points this season, compared to 20 in 2010-11. Seabrook's power-play ice time has also decline this season, but not drastically. He averaged 2:39 power-play minutes per contest last season and 2:03 minutes in 2011-12.

Brent Seabrook scored his fourth goal of the season in the 3-1 loss to the Calgary Flames. Seabrook is well rounded blueliner, but he doesn't put up big totals offensively. Last season was the first season he was above average offensively, but this season he's only on pace for 31 points. The one major category he does contribute in is +/-, as he's a +10 this season, which is fairly decent. There are better options out there on most waiver wires, unless you really need the positive +/-.

Brent Seabrook scored the winner in the third period to give the Chicago Blackhawks a 3-2 win over Detroit Friday. It was his second goal of the season and it was a big one as they defeated their bitter divisional rivals. Jonathan Toews on a penalty shot and Marian Hossa also scored for Chicago.

Brent Seabrook (upper body) was able to play on Tuesday. Seabrook left Sunday's game after being hit into the boards from behind by Calgary's Rene Bourque. Although the initial fear was that he had a concussion, it looks like he managed to avoid a serious injury. Seabrook isn't suffering from any memory loss related to the hit and he said he never lost consciousness. "I remember the whole thing," Seabrook said. "I got hit and heard Bourque say right away he was sorry. I couldn't get up so I put my head down and everybody seemed to think I was knocked out. I felt like I held my weight pretty good." Seabrook fired three shots on goal and blocked six shots in 23:06 minutes of ice time on Tuesday.

Brent Seabrook returned to action on Tuesday December 20.

Chicago's Brent Seabrook says he feels fine and will play at Pittsburgh tonight. The defenseman took a hit from Calgary's Rene Bourque on Sunday and was removed from the game on a precautionary basis. Seabrook says he was not knocked out by the hit, which earned Bourque a 2-game suspension.
