Brent Seabrook scored a goal in Chicago's 2-0 win Tuesday. Seabrook has been hot lately with two goals and five points in his last five games. Overall, he has 16 points in 31 games in 2013 and we think that's a pace he can maintain through what's left of the 2013 campaign.

Brent Seabrook had a goal and an assist after being benched for most of the second period Monday. Gabriel Landeskog scored a shorthanded goal as he beat Seabrook badly with 34 seconds to go in the first period. He did not get back on the ice until there was 7:23 left in the second and then he sparkled offensively. Seabrook now has five goals and 14 points, not too shabby for the defenseman.

Brent Seabrook's goal in overtime kept the Blackhawks' record-breaking streak alive as they edged the Blue Jackets 4-3 Friday night at the United Center to remain without a regulation loss this season. At 18-0-3, the Hawks keep piling up the points, securing 39 of a possible 42 this season. Seabrook took a pass from Jonathan Toews three minutes, 23 seconds into overtime and beat Blue Jackets goaltender Steve Mason for the game-winner. "(Toews) is good - he's a hell of a player," Seabrook said, giving credit to his captain. "He usually likes to shoot low and I think (Columbus goaltender Steve) Mason was probably thinking he was going to shoot it. (Toews) had a slug defenseman (in me) going down on the off side so he made a great pass. I don't think the Blue Jackets defenseman, Mason or I expected it to come. Somehow he saw me and made a great pass. He didn't look at me once and I didn't yell. He's pretty good in those situations so I just let him do his thing. I don't think I shot the puck, it was such a hard pass it hit my stick and just bounced in."

Brent Seabrook recorded the game-winning goal as the Blackhawks kept up their winning ways with a 4-3 overtime victory versus the Blue Jackets on Friday night. The winner was an easy one with half the net vacant, set up with a great no-look, cross-ice pass from Jonathan Toews after he faked the shot. Seabrook now has nine points on the season and is a pretty solid blueline option. Viktor Stalberg, Bryan Bickell and Patrick Sharp had the other goals in the victory. Chicago is now 18-0-3 on the year.

Brent Seabrook has a lower-body injury and will not play Tuesday night. Seabrook was hit below the belt by a Drew Doughty slapshot Sunday afternoon, although coach Joel Quenneville would only say it was hit "somewhere." The injury is likely minor and Seabrook could be back in the lineup Friday night. Seabrook is off to a strong start this season with eight points in 15 games and his hits make him an even stronger play in expanded leagues.

Brent Seabrook scored a goal and registered an assist in Chicago's 3-2 victory Sunday. Seabrook also blocked five shots to give him a league-high 44 this season. He's off to a solid start offensively with eight points in 15 games and he's an even better fantasy option in leagues that use some additional defensive categories like hits and, of course, blocked shots.

Brent Seabrook has a league-leading 13 blocked shots in just three games. "I don't know who was counting them," Seabrook said. "Some of them just sort of grazed off me in good spots. It's one of those things where I'm trying to get in the right lanes and get in the way. A few pucks hit me. I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing." Seabrook won't maintain that rate of blocked shots, but he will probably end up averaging about two per game. He's been more than willing to use his body to stop shots during his NHL career, which makes it all the more remarkable that he's played in at least 78 games in each of his previous six seasons.
