Sutter registered his ninth goal of the season in Tuesday's win over the Wild.
Sutter has been quiet since returning from an illness in late December, producing two goals and no assists over the last eight games. He enjoyed a steady run of scoring earlier in the season while assuming a top-six spot for the Penguins, but his subsequent move to the third line has resulted in more frequent point droughts.

Sutter (illness) appeared to be a full participant in Saturday's morning skate and looks like he'll draw back into the lineup later in the evening against the Capitals, Dave Molinari of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Sutter had been isolated from the team since Monday, after coming down with an illness the Penguins feared could be related to the mumps. It was revealed Friday that Sutter tested negative for the virus, and with the center seemingly no longer feeling any ill effects, he'll be plugged back in on the team's second line next to Evgeni Malkin and Patric Hornqvist.

Sutter has tested negative for the mumps virus, Josh Yohe of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
Sutter missed two games earlier this week with an illness, but it turns out he is not dealing with the mumps virus that is bothering a couple of his teammates. Sutter will likely be available for Pittsburgh's next game Saturday, but an official call on his status may not come until after the team's morning skate.

The results of Sutter's tests for the mumps won't be available until Friday.
With the NHL observing a three-day break in the schedule for the holidays, the status of Sutter, Steve Downie, and Thomas Greiss will remain shrouded in mystery until the Pens reconvene for practice. Sutter has already missed the team's previous two games as a precaution.

Sutter (illness) won't be available Tuesday versus the Lightning.
It would seem the Penguins are still awaiting results on the tests for the mumps that three players underwent Monday, as none of Sutter, Thomas Greiss or Steve Downie will be available for Tuesday's match. More information regarding Sutter's condition, as well as those of his teammates, should be revealed at some point during the upcoming Christmas break.

Sutter is being tested for the mumps and will not play in Monday's game against the Panthers, Josh Yohe of The Tribune-Review reports.
Sutter was able to travel to Florida for Monday's game, but with him possibly coming down with the mumps, he will be held out of action Monday. It remains to be seen if he will return to the team for Pittsburgh's next game Tuesday in Tampa.

Sutter scored his seventh goal of the season Monday against the Lightning.
The shorthander was his second in 2014-15 and first since Opening Night. Coach Mike Johnston spoke effusively about Sutter's untapped offensive potential after Monday's game. At this stage of his career, fantasy owners would likely be happy with the half-point per game pace he's currently approaching for the first time since 2009-10 -- he has 14 points in 30 games.

Sutter tallied an assist Monday, registering a team-high four hits, two blocks and three shots on goal.
He has helpers in both of the last two games and continues to skate on the team's No. 1 PP unit (though Pittsburgh was awarded just one power-play chance Monday). Sutter has totaled only 13 points in 27 tilts but is taking a more prominent offensive role on the Pens due to a plethora of injuries, centering Evgeni Malkin and Blake Comeau.

A scoring change following Saturday's win against Ottawa turned a Brandon Sutter goal into an assist.
The switch gives Sutter six goals and six assists in 26 games. Playing with Evgeni Malkin at even strength -- as he did Saturday -- figures to bump up Sutter's fantasy stock in the short run. In addition, coach Mike Johnston's decision to place him on the No. 1 PP unit is yet another reason to consider the centerman right now, especially in daily leagues.

Sutter snapped a seven-game pointless streak Saturday afternoon, scoring his first power-play goal of the season while skating on Pittsburgh's top power-play unit.
Injuries have forced the Penguins to shuffle the makeup of their power play and Sutter took full advantage Saturday. He also centered the team's second line at even strength, skating with Evgeni Malkin at left wing and Blake Comeau on the right. He now has seven goals and 12 points in 26 contests.
