Pouliot (foot) was activated from injured reserve and will play Friday against the Avalanche.
He'll draw in on the Oilers' second line to replace David Perron, who was traded to the Penguins earlier in the day. Pouliot's respectable two-way play should be a welcome addition, but he won't be able to save the sinking Oilers, who are competing for the No. 1 draft pick at this point in the season. The winger had eight points and a minus-3 rating over 20 games before fracturing his foot in late November.

Pouliot (broken foot) was on the ice for Tuesday's morning skate, Bob Stauffer of 630 CHED reports.
Pouliot is right around his original timetable of five-to-six weeks, so his return may not be far off. While it would be surprising if he played in Tuesday's game against the Kings, Pouliot now bears close watching.

Pouliot (foot) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
Pouliot suffered a broken foot in Friday's contest, so the move isn't overly surprising considering the nature of the injury and his projected absence. Look for Matt Hendricks or Jesse Joensuu to see extra work on the fourth line while the winger is on the shelf.

Pouliot (broken foot) will miss five-to-six weeks, Jack Michaels of the Oilers Radio Network reports.
The lengthy absence wasn't unexpected given the nature of the injury, which Pouliot suffered during Friday's game against the Devils. The recovery timetable puts him on track to return in early- to mid-January, but a more definitive date probably won't be pinned down until he resumes practicing.

Pouliot recorded a goal and assist in Sunday's 3-1 victory over the Rangers.
Playing against his former club, Pouliot nabbed just his second goal of the season. He put up a career high 36 points last season with the Blueshirts, and skating on the first line with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Jordan Eberle, he could come close to that number again this year.

Pouliot will be the first to play on the top line with Taylor Hall out, according to the Edmonton Journal.
Pouliot only has one goal and three assists so far this season so it's not like his play has forced the Oilers' hand. A conspiracy theorist might believe that Edmonton is doing this to justify the size of the contract the team handed him this off-season.

Pouliot recorded a goal and assist in Monday's 3-0 win over the Canadiens.
With four points and a minus-2 rating through nine games, Pouliot has been a serviceable depth scorer for the Oilers, but probably doesn't have much upside beyond that. Those probing the Oilers for potential breakout candidates beyond the team's stars are better off taking a gamble on Mark Arcobello or Nail Yakupov, linemates of Pouliot's who are younger and offer much more in terms of untapped potential.

Pouliot (hip) skated Wednesday and will be ready to play in Thursday's opener, according to the Edmonton Journal.
Pouliot will skate on the second line with Nail Yakupov and Leon Draisaitl. This line may hold the key to the Oilers success this season as they need secondary scoring but with this being Pouliot's first season in Edmonton and Draisaitl a rookie, it may end up being to much to ask.
