Pouliot recorded a goal and assist in Monday's 3-0 win over the Canadiens. With four points and a minus-2 rating through nine games, Pouliot has been a serviceable depth scorer for the Oilers, but probably doesn't have much upside beyond that. Those probing the Oilers for potential breakout candidates beyond the team's stars are better off taking a gamble on Mark Arcobello or Nail Yakupov, linemates of Pouliot's who are younger and offer much more in terms of untapped potential.
