Watson skated just 10:13 in Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Maple Leafs. He failed to register a point, but recorded two hits, two blocked shots and two PIM.
EDGE Analysis
The good news is, except for sitting out opening night back in October, Watson has played in every game for the Preds this season, and he's already surpassed his 10-point rookie season last year with 16 points in the current campaign. He's also seeing more ice time (12:25 versus 10:00 last season), and his plus-minus rating has improved from a minus-4 to a plus-12. The bad news is, he's still toiling in relative obscurity on the Preds' fourth line most nights, which leaves him few opportunities to contribute offensively. Watson has been one of the better players at AHL Milwaukee the past few seasons (127 points in 224 games from 2012-2015), but his NHL career has gotten off to a much slower start. As such, he does not boast a great deal of fantasy value at the present time.

Watson was held off the scoresheet Sunday against the Blue Jackets, giving him just one point in his last 15 games.
EDGE Analysis
Watson has spent most of this season skating on the Preds' fourth line, which provides him little opportunity to contribute much offensively. Watson has been one of the better scorers at AHL Milwaukee the past few seasons, but has so far had little impact at the NHL level.

Watson opened the scoring with an unassisted goal early in the second period of Thursday's 2-1 victory over Boston.
EDGE Analysis
He picked up a loose puck right in front of the Boston net and fired it home, giving him goals in three consecutive games. That's quite a leap in production for a guy who had only one goal and seven points in 35 contests previously, but it's not totally out of nowhere -- after all, the 24-year-old (who turns 25 on Friday) was the No. 18 overall selection in the 2010 draft and has thrice cleared 20 goals in the AHL. With a steady trickle of PIM to go with this offensive surge, he's carving out a degree of deep-league relevance.

Watson tallied his first goal and his second assist of the season as well as five PIM and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 5-3 win over Colorado.
EDGE Analysis
Points are a blessed rarity for Watson, as he had just a lonely helper over 17 games to open the season. With not much ice time available for the 25-year-old fourth-liner, his fantasy value is painfully low, but it's worth noting that he's been a decent offensive contributor at the AHL level in the past.

Waston has been held pointless through 10 games since being recalled from the AHL in October.
EDGE Analysis
Watson had only 10 points in 57 games with the Preds last year, playing on th team's fourth line. He's playing a similar role this season, so there's no real reason to believe the points will come any more frequently. What's more, Watson's secondary stat totals (hits, PIM, blocked shots) aren't exactly eye-popping either, so there aren't many fantasy formats where he holds a lot of value right now. Avoid.

Watson was called up to the Predators on Saturday, TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
After playing in 57 NHL games last season, it would make sense that Watson sticks around for a while. However, if he ends up playing poorly, he could easily bounce back down to the minors.

Watson was assigned by the Predators to AHL Milwaukee on Saturday, Adam Vingan of the Tennessean reports.
EDGE Analysis
Watson played in 57 games for Nashville last season but contributed only 10 points on 10 minutes of ice time per game. The No. 18 overall pick in the 2010 draft has a more impressive record at the AHL as he's produced 46 and 44 points, respectively, during the 2013-14 and 2014-15 campaign with AHL Milwaukee. Given his proven track record in hockey minors and experience in the NHL, he'll be a likely call up candidate should one of the Predators forwards go down with an injury.

Watson was waived by the Predators on Friday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Watson was Nashville's first-round (18th) overall selection in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He made his way into 57 games with the parent club last season, but was commonly left as a healthy scratch. He proved to be a quality scorer in the minors, though, so perhaps he'll be called up when injuries threaten the big club.

Watson sat out Saturday's game against Columbus as a healthy scratch, the third consecutive game he has watched from the press box.
EDGE Analysis
This should come as no surprise, as Watson has been in and out of the lineup all season, having accumulated just 55 games played out of a possible 75. After scoring 44 points in 76 games with AHL Milwaukee last season, it looked like Watson was ready to step in and contribute with the big club this year, but overall he's been nothing short of disappointing. Avoid.

Watson was ejected from Tuesday's tilt with the Jets after an illegal hit on Winnipeg forward Mark Dano.
EDGE Analysis
Watson was ejected after 5:10 of ice time due to his headshot on Dano. The 24-year-old winger accumulated 10 PIM for a match penalty for deliberate injury.
