Shaw could be moving closer to a contract extension since the Blackhawks traded Bryan Bickell on Wednesday, CSN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
By trading Bickell, the Blackhawks saved $4 million against the cap, which they can put toward a Shaw signing. The 24-year-old agitator pocketed $2 million annually after inking a two-year deal ahead of the 2014-15 campaign. General manager Stan Bowman has expressed an interest in bringing him back. "Yeah, the way Andrew played, obviously we like what he brings to the table and we'd like to try and make something work," he said. The report adds that Bickell wants to remain with the Blackhawks, so this could just be a matter of team brass crunching numbers and reaching a salary figure that makes sense for both parties.

Shaw has served his one-game suspension and is available for Game 6 on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw was likely the happiest member of the Blackhawks after a double overtime victory Thursday to extend their playoff run. The 24-year-old will have a chance to get on the ice and put this incident behind him, rather than have it be the last thing people remember about his 2015-16 campaign. The winger has been vital to Chicago as he has tallied four points in the series, including a three point night in his most recent outing.

Shaw has been suspended one game for his homophobic slur directed at an official near the end of Game 4, Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune reports. He will also be required to undergo sensitivity training for the incident.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw's comments came near the end of Game 4 after taking a cross-checking penalty that may have cost the Blackhawks a chance at tying the game. His absence comes at a pivotal point in the series, as the Blackhawks head to St. Louis with hopes of keeping their postseason alive. It's possible the 24-year-old winger has played his last game of the season, but that won't be determined until Game 5 is played out. Either Dale Weise or Brandon Mashinter will likely take Shaw's spot in the lineup, but neither really provides the fantasy upside of a guy who's tallied 34 points and 153 shots on goal over 78 games this season.

Shaw had a goal and two assists in Tuesday's Game 4 loss to St. Louis.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw had a hand in all three of Chicago's goals on a night when the team's big stars couldn't solve a brilliant Brian Elliott. It was Shaw's best performance since scoring a goal in Game 2, and also finished the night with a team-high 16 penalty minutes, including a game misconduct assessed at the end of the game. He was a thorn in the Blues' side all night, but he'll need his teammates to chip in as well as they face elimination in Game 5 in enemy territory. He's only a viable playoff pool option if the Blackhawks go deep into the playoffs, which seems unlikely at this point.

Shaw (undisclosed) indicated Monday that he will be available for Wednesday's Game 1 against the Blues, Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw didn't play another game after leaving April 1 against the Jets, likely to ensure his health for the playoffs. The rest has done enough, as the veteran will be ready to play. Given the team's depth at forward, Shaw is no longer a part of the top six, but could still provide some value in playoff pools if the Blackhawks make a deep run.

Shaw (undisclosed) is expected to miss the final two games of the regular season, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw will miss a third consecutive game Thursday against the Blues, and is considered highly doubtful for Saturday's regular-season finale against Columbus. Barring a miraculous recovery, it's safe to assume that Shaw's next opportunity to draw into the Blackhawks' lineup won't come until the first game of Chicago's first-round playoff series. Those keeping tabs on the 24-year-old forward's availability can expect an update on his status once he's ready to return to game action.

Shaw (upper body) won't play either Sunday against the Bruins or Tuesday against the Coyotes, CSN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though Shaw will miss Chicago's next two games, coach Joel Quenneville does expect the forward to play again before the regular season ends. Following Tuesday's tilt, the Hawks' next contest is Thursday against the Blues, with the team's regular season slate concluding this coming Saturday against the Blue Jackets.

Shaw (upper body) will return to the lineup against the Bruins on Sunday, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw's ailment was never considered severe, so he can safely be plugged back into fantasy lineups. The 24-year-old is a well-rounded spark plug in that he provides a modest level of offensive production (34 points in 78 games; plus-11 rating) plus he really gets under the skin of opponents with a copious amount of hits -- he's delivered 148 of those this season.

Shaw is listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
EDGE Analysis
Shaw could not finish Friday's game after suffering the setback, but head coach Joel Quenneville does not believe Shaw is dealign with anything serious, so he will have a chance to play in the Blackhawks' next game Sunday against the Bruins.

It's not clear what type of setback Shaw is dealing with, but he will not play the third period of Friday's contest. Expect an update on his status when more details become available.
