Andrew Ference (lower body) didn't practice Wednesday. He should be considered questionable to play Thursday in Game 1 against the New York Rangers. Ference missed the last two games of Boston's opening-round series with a lower-body ailment.

Andrew Ference (undisclosed) won't play Monday in Game 7. He didn't play Sunday night either in Toronto in Game 6.

Andrew Ference remained in Boston Sunday night with an undisclosed injury and is day-to-day. His status for Game 7 Monday night is still a question mark. The Bruins were forced to spend the night in Toronto due to a mechanical malfunction with their plane, so the team may not hold a morning skate since they will travel back to Boston Monday morning.

He added, "I know you guys want something special, but honestly it was about the discussion between Peter, myself and the league yesterday. It really doesn't matter what I think. The criteria of which [hits] are or aren't reviewed, or which [hits are] played on the TV a million times. That's not my job. The decision has been made." Ference also expressed confidence that his teammates would compensate for his absence.

Andrew Ference has been suspended one game for an illegal check to the head of Toronto center Mikhail Grabovski. The incident occurred just past the midway point of the first period and no penalty was called on the play. Ference will miss Game 2 on Saturday night as a result of the ban and he will be eligible to return Monday at Toronto.

Monday's game between the Bruins and Ottawa Senators was postponed after the tragic and horrifying Boston Marathon bombing incident. Ference could be scratched from the lineup on Wednesday instead now in order to get rookie defenseman Dougie Hamilton, who has sat out the past two contests, back into the fold.
