Andrei Markov scored the only Montreal goal in a 4-1 loss to the Senators on Thursday night. Markov's goal came on a first period power play and was his second of the campaign. Tomas Plekanec and P.K. Subban drew assists on the team's only tally.

Andrei Markov recorded three assists in Montreal's 4-3 defeat to Minnesota on Friday. P.K. Subban had his third goal and 10th assist of the season. Brendan Gallagher and Brian Gionta each found the back of the net in the losing effort.

It wasn't a pretty end to the 2013 campaign, as they were quickly eliminated in five games by Ottawa, but Montreal still has plenty to proud of going into next season. Markov should also be pleased that he managed to appear in all 48 games during the regular season and all five matches in the playoffs after struggling with injuries the past three years.

Andrei Markov had a goal and an assist on Saturday. Markov had been limited to just 20 games in his previous two seasons and 65 contests in his previous three campaigns coming into 2013. However, he managed in play in all 48 of Montreal's games this season and was among the league's top defensemen with 10 goals and 30 points.

If the game between the Canadiens and the Maple Leafs meant nothing, the Habs would likely have given veteran reargaurd Andrei Markov the night off. However, that is not the case. The Habs still have a chance to win the Northeast Divsion and finish second in the Eastern Conference. Look for Markov to dress Saturday.

Andrei Markov is the Montreal Canadiens' nominee for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy. Markov is an obvious choice for the Canadiens' nominee, given that he was limited to just 65 games coming into this season. Markov's career was temporarily derailed due to knee problems, but at the age of 34, he's bounced back with nine goals and 27 points in 45 games this season.

However, Markov came up big on Montreal's power play very late in the third period when he scored the game-tying goal to send the contest into overtime. Markov has been churning out points fairly regularly this season, but the goal was his first since Feb. 25. He has 12 points in his last 15 games.

Andrei Markov scored once in the Canadiens' 2-1 "road" loss Monday night in Kanata. The oft-injured Markov is an integral part of the Montreal offense, especially on with the man advantage. The Russian native now has 11 points in 19 games on the season. Good job if you took a gamble on him during draft day.
